Been using my wrist rest daily. Using a 60% rest on a TKL.
Been great. Depending on the angle you type at and how meaty your wrists are, these can come off as hard as wood.
After using it quite a bit, it gets some weathering from your hands. Not sure if it's your skin's oil or whatnot.
Not much more I need to say.... other than it being warmer and textured than glass/metal is pretty nice. Especially after a long day of stroking... keycaps all day. ;)
It's a quality wrist rest that causes a few of my coworkers to ask where they could get one. The tapered angle makes it ergonomic. Over time, it's naturally a tad faded where my wrists are primarily resting. The drips are great and gives the keyboard I'm using more stability (since most of the weight is on the wrist rest). 10/10, would buy again and recommend to a friend.
KENTOSIIt's still noticeable, but it looks way better after I apply a mineral oil just once even without letting it soaks in. Sanding it before using the oil should be better, but I plan to coat the oil and leave it over night before wipe the excess out a couple more times. I've got the oil from IKEA actually for my cutting board.
Super sticky feet which is great.
There is a nice pitch change in the surface which makes it really comfortable to type on.
Texture of the wood feels great too.
Should have bought more of these.
Another warped board review. Which is too bad because the wrist rest is otherwise very nice. I did add some tung oil to make the purpleheart pop and waxed it so it felt nicer on the palms. I don't really fault them for this and it doesn't reflect my scoring of the product since it was an acceptable finish and it allows me to finish it to my preferences. But the extreme twisting of the wood that required a .3 cm shim is what gives it such a low score. In fact if I wasn't so enamored with the color and grain of the otherwise cleanly cut and finished wood, I probably would have given it one star.
I have experienced the same issues as others have said but some of mine at an accelerated pace.
1. I was disappointed to find out that I needed to add some rubber bottoms or some type of anti-slide surface to not have the wrist rest move around. My fault for not researching the product better but I thought something like that would have been included.
2. I paid extra for the ebony wood and I wonder if it is actually ebony wood or just a varnish or stain to make the wood darker. Regardless, within 100 hours of use the finish is clearly being removed from where my left wrist has been resting on the wood. I initially noticed the corners and sides were not evenly colored and I was OK with that but to have the actual top of the rest start totally loose the "ebony" wood look I paid for is in my opinion this is totally unacceptable.
I would avoid this rest if at all possible.
