Mine arrived and I am already enjoying it. The trick to opening it is to give it a quick twist while opening. Otherwise, the magnetic closures are beastly strong. For all of the folks with questions and uneducated complaints: I filled it with water last night and set it on its edge overnight. No leaks. Would I put something mission critical in it? Not until there was a bit of testing. But it held water for 16 hours with some barometric ups and downs. Dried it out and it is already loaded and in my EDC bag. Thanks!
RappleySincerely appreciate the compliment and review. No “real” quantifiable tests have been done to be able to definitively say they are “waterproof”. I am willing to say they are “water resistant”. Hope you use and enjoy yours for years to come. Thanks.
RappleyAnd holy cow...anyone wondering how well the top stays on should have watched the grown man in my office today get ready to use a screwdriver to open it until I told him just to twist the cap. He was like "whoa...".
Cool product. Not exactly a "run screaming to get one" price, particularly given the insipid name/logo. No logo and a $40-50 price point would be more compelling to me.
Everyday carry, and no means to keep contents dry. This is the same issue with other similar products carried by Drop. An “O” ring is needed to be fitted into the design in order to keep moisture out. I’m not talking about waterproofing to a depth of 10 meters for 30 minutes. Just an honest and simple water resistant EDC box that will keep contents dry.
I examined the photos after I commented and did see the o ring. I tried editing my comment to add that I found it, but the Drop discussion or my browser was bugging out and my comment "disappeared". I figured it got moderated but I guess I was just having technical issues because its still here. Anyway, I can see it in the photo and it looks like a great design.
The Pig Puck is back. The picayune purple porker pig puck puke pickle . If you can say that fast five times, you should be one free. And if they don't follow thru on that, you deserve to make the purchase using your own funds. Note to the HogDogs- The colors are really attractive. If only my AD-15 would fit in one, I would strongly consider a purchase.
bbvaneThere are magnets used for the closure mechanism. If the headphones you plan on storing in the puck can be damaged by magnets then this is probably not the item you’d want to use for that. However I put my apple wired ear buds in one and have had no issues.
bbvaneThe magnetic pull on the inside is not all that strong, compared to where the pairs meet up. It isnt non existent, but I keep my IEMs in there so I am not too worried about it.
