Product Description
Helping you create perfect seams without much effort on your end, the Ideal Seam Guide offers you a straight edge, similar to that of a ruler, that sticks to your machine and holds your seam in place. Just an FYI for others, The 5 inch doesn't really cover much space at all and the sticky part on the back isn't very sticky. I haven't tried to wet it to get fuzzies off of it but it doesn't sit flat on my machine (Brother cs600i) because there is a small difference in height between the area the bobbin drops into and the rest of the bed. Overall, I am disappointed in this purchase. As I said, just an FYI for others.

To echo some of the comments I saw below, yeah, this isn't the best product. The part that's supposed to stick didn't and my machine had a slight curve to the bed so it also wouldn't stay flat. The sticky part is absolutely worthless. I threw it out. The part that lets you put your needle through to pick a size is great though. That part I kept and I use it to set my seam size all the time.

How about a package with all 3 of the guides, 5",10" & 15" guide, but only one gauge. Not sure why I would need 3 of the gauges.

Hi @MCC27,
I have reached out to the vendor on behalf of the group, and they currently only offer the Curved Seam Guide in the 3-piece Student Edition Kit. If there's enough interest, I'll work with the vendor to make the Curved Seam Guide available for a future drop!
Thank you,
~ Rita

I have a set of these and they are wonderful to get the prefect scant 1/4 inch seam and all others too!

KarenMcSAlso, if they stop sticking good, just wash them with a cleaner such as 409. Smear just with your finger to get the little threads and lint off, rinse and dry completely. They will stick like new after cleaning!

I bought mine at a quilt show and also found that it did not stick. Certainly will not recommend them to anyone

At a quilt show, I bought an ideal seam guide, and it didn't stick at all to my sewing machine. I emailed the company and asked for advice and never heard from them.

I agree with M Belmer totally. Very disappointed especially with price and use. Went back to moleskin or painter tape. BE SURE no ridge on machine. I did wash off fuzzies and seems okay but not sure how long will last in long run

I am a little confused about the pricing if I want to order the 5”, 10” and 15” set. For $22.99 I get the seam gauge and 5” seam guide. I can then add on either the 10” seam guide for $2.50, or the 15” seam guide for $5.00. If I want to order all three I have to add on an additional $20. Wouldn’t the add on for both the 10” and 15” only be an additional $7.50 instead of an additional $20? Thanks for the clarification.

Thank you for the clarification. That makes complete sense. I am placing my order now. I saw this at a quilt trade show being demonstrated and after I left I regretted not buying it.

I got into reading this discussion a little late . Are you changing the options available to us? And now that it is being picked up, is it to late to make changes? I am one of those people who do not spend a lot of time looking up discussions on items that I have purchased. If there have been changes, I think an email to those who have purchased it should be in order.

What kind of sewing machines do people have that the Ideal Seam Guide does work on? I have a Janome, but I saw PJDavis has three Janome's it did not work on all three of her machines? =(

JennJKI have a Viking and it worked well on my machine with the extra wish table in place. I think it was because of the table it was staying. (the larger size ruler) HOWEVER! When I wanted to remove it, it was stuck like super glue to the table. And when I did get it to come off, so did the TAPE that was on the ruler. It's just double stick tape. How can that last ? It says 'rubberized base' and it is not at all.
