For those that want a simple look with modern functionality, the IKBC TypeMaster X is the keyboard to beat. Available in both TKL and full-size options, it features double-coated ABS keys in black and a sturdy plastic frame in dark gray Read More
what are the dimensions for the keyboard? Im looking for a mech keyboard that would spend its life with my laptop and being shoved in bags with that laptop. I was going to go with a custom planck but this is so cheap if its a good size I might just get it... I dp wish that there was an option for tactile switches though...
I would be all over this if I hadn’t just committed to a pricey ergo build. There aren’t a ton of low-profile TKL designs out there with red switches and It’s got a nice design, plus I dig the rotary encoder. I was trying to find a way to buy this exact board in the US but the only way to do it was through a 3rd party seller on NewEgg for $166, which seemed like way too much. I’m hoping the GB succeeds and y’all share some impressions and reviews!
DrKlawFor sure! Considering how this drop does, we'll be sure to consider rerunning it in the future :)
I do agree that the features of this board is really great for the price!
From the same company that had their IKBC Clear Cherry switched model cancelled by MassDrop, a couple of weeks ago.
Now only stuck with Cherry low profiled Red's .........aaahhhh ....... noway hosay : (
In the end they will most probably cancel this Group Buy as well, not worth wasting any time with this one here.
I used to like my iKBC (really heavy, and feels like a tank). But they break down easy. At first, it was the USB port (they had to send me a new one to replace and install) and that fixed it. Now, after a few months, the whole keyboard just went kaput. I had better luck in my other cheapo keyboards.
The design is very nice but the switches should be Kailh Choc to get both: different types of switches and really low profile keyboard - over 28mm is not so low profile like ones with Kailh (or clones) can be (19-22mm).
They are just inferior to the choc and choc also has tactile a clicky versions which is generally more associated with typing. They also cause your keycaps to look crooked due to the round stems.
jdswhatwhatsame, chocs have way more variety of switches plus the keycaps are slimmer making the keyboard thiner overall sure replacement are going to be a pain in the ass but im sure diferent switch options are sort of a plus for most of us
Hmm, cherry low profile switches, and reds no less. What do you guys think? This doesn't sound like something people here are going to want. Not to mention the cheap abs keycaps that may be hard to find relplacements for
nickaa827This board is definitely more suited for people in an office or tight setting, who want a quieter switch. Enthusiasts have plenty of other options heh - thanks for your feedback!
