Love the shears! Had them for about 3 months now. Heavy daily use in a busy Michelin Star kitchen. Perfect for my station and my needs. Highly recommended!

These are awesome KITCHEN SHEARS. They are NOT scissors and are designed to come apart, primarily for cleaning. They make butchering a whole chicken a minor task instead of a chore. Folks who are having problems with them "falling apart" aren't using them properly. They should not be opened more than 60 degrees. Excellent serrations and fine craftmanship. And if you need to pop a cold one, crush a lobster or stone crab claw, or pry a paint can open you can do that too. These shears cut through a lobster tail shell like a hot knife through butter!

As has been mentioned these do come apart easily. This is a benefit and a detriment. Mechanically it's easy to see how this works. It's literally just a tab pivoting in a hole with a slot. When the tab is parallel to the the slot it falls apart. This is a good feature since it allows you to sharpen the scissors (as if it was a knife) and clean them. And most importantly, the mechanism is securely fastened to the scissor blade. It is not cheaply riveted on. These pair of scissors will last as long as the scissor blades not as long as the pivot mechanism which is the point of failure for most scissors I've owned. If you open the scissors far enough they fall apart. I personally don't think that the scissors need to open that far to cut effectively. You would have to be cutting something more than 2 inches wide. However, if you try to grab the scissors by a single handle or cut in very wide strokes or absent-mindedly play with them - they will fall apart. Using them as poultry shears they cut cleanly and effectively. So it loses a star for not having a bump in the hole to prevent from accidentally pulling the blades apart. Otherwise, this is a sharp, well-constructed, and effective pair of kitchen shears that will last a very long time.

My sheers were perfect out of the box, haven't experienced any of the issues others have had. The side lock together nicely with no play in them at all. Haven't processed a chicken with them but I use them for any medial task where regular scissors aren't up to the task. Also these are great for cutting cheese cloth.

Absolute waste of money. These don't cut well at all compared to my OXO shears. The nut that holds them together is super flimsy and they now twist weirdly and can't be tightened properly. Pure junk.

EDITED 16/08/2019 So I loved these so much I decided to order two more pairs for family, I don't know if they sold so well that they ramped up production but there has been a significant drop in the final polish of the product. Both pairs I got this time was not polished on the inside of the handles, they're rough to touch. I can no longer say they amazing quality as I did for the original Drop. Original review: Amazing quality, love being able to take it apart for cleaning. i don't ever see these breaking compared to even more expensive ones I own.

everytime I try to use them to cut something, they fall apart. Everytime i put them back together, they slowly come apart.

These are THE WORST. The very first time I tried to use them to cut something, they came apart. They can be put back together, but the are essentially useless for actually cutting anything. Worst purchase ever. I'm totally regretting using a service that does not offer returns/refunds/exchanges.

I love em. They cut smoothly through everything I've tried (and I did try butterflying a chicken, so it can handle a backbone). They look awesome and are super easy to clean. I haven't had them long enough to really abuse or dull them, but I have a good feeling they'll last well.

These pair of shears are the best shears that I have ever owned, and even though I did not use them for their intended purposes, I was unimpressed when I received them, because they looked boring, bulky, and unappealing, but boy, let me tell you, these shears could cut through cardboards like a hot knife through butter, and I was amazed by their performance, and I would repurchase these shears in a heartbeat if they became available again.
