Totally personal preference on whether a mini board is for you - I found this to be my favourite size of keyboard. No switches have failed on me and I enjoyed typing on Gateron Blacks, and in fact prefer them over Cherry Reds. I included o-rings to silence the bottoming out but that ruined the typing experience a bit so I removed them later. The only gripe I would have for this particular keyboard is that the black ABS keys became shiny within the first month and so I had to replace them after several months use with PBT caps. I think this is one of the best no-frills mini boards out there.
Board felt very good for the price point. 2nd keyboard I've ever bought and the gateron switches are very nice but I'm sure you could find a description of them online. It's weird to get used to if you're not used to such a small board. Been using it for a little less than a week and I love it and for around $100 it should be a pickup for anyone looking for a new board.
The V60 was my first mechanical keyboard. Great gateway board. I've since fallen headfirst into the hobby. I kept a star for a slight warp on the left side of the case. It warped inward, sometimes interfering with key travel. I checked several different caps from various sets to make sure it wasn't just a wonky cap. Jammed a thin rubber washer between the PCB and case for scrape-free typing on that side.
Good value for the price, one of the more affordable options if you're interested in a 60% layout. Went with the Gateron Blue switches just to try something different (have only owned Cherry MX Browns otherwise), fortunately they are quite good for programming.
The build and keycap quality were fine. It is very light and compact, yet sturdy. The abs is strong and can survive desk-height falls or rough handling in a backpack without concern. I only had some minor fading in the WASD keys in the ~3 years I used it.
The Gateron blue switches are similar to cherry mx blue, if a little bit "smoother". I did have a couple go bad within the first year. The customer service was prompt and very polite. They ended up sending me a handful of assorted switches that I could solder myself. I guess it wouldn't be worth shipping this from US-Taiwan to get fixed and sent back.
Decent buy for the price range
Decent for the price, but it has a short after 1.5 years. If you're looking to test out mechanical keyboards in general or just the 60% form factor, this is probably a decent option -- but don't plan for this to last you anywhere near as long as something even a little nicer.
