i love mech kbs but this might be the first time i will jump into a barebones approach and i read somewhere that there are boards that are either 3 or 5 socket capable. Not exactly sure what that means, as im a total noob when it comes to custom kbs, so please let me know which one this is and the pros/cons of 3/5 sockets?

This mad-quirky keyboard is way too interesting to only show from one angle! And no mention of that little joystick?

TBF the official site doesn't say much about it, either, and doesn't fully explain what it can do, mentioning it only once halfway down the page;
  • The innovative five-way joystick allows the LCD screen to perfectly achieve functions like adjusting volume, displaying time or uploaded personalized images, etc. You can also customize the joystick to any desired key to enhance your workflow.
Sounds like by default the stick controls the screen and that its press / click function can be remapped to a key or maybe macro - but I can't help but wonder if it can be used like a regular analog stick or pointing device. Another look at the board, fully kitted-out with adjacent goodies from Keysme:

Yes, this thing has a dedicated pair of fidget spinners that attach to the side - though if I understand correctly those are exclusive to the their site, along with a first edition of the keyboard that has an alternate set of decorative plates on the front and bottom. Strikes me as niche, but also reasonably fitting for a design that goes this hard on the spaceship theme:

The spinners even have little windows on the side where you can see a corkscrew shape moving inside:

As of writing the kit isn't actually available to order on the Keysme site yet like it is here, but there is a bit more information and a bunch more images to see if you're curious about this funky keyboard.
