If you’ve always wanted glassware made from your favorite bottles, but don’t like the thought of putting your lips to a jagged edge, we’ve got just the thing. Designed to separate nearly any size glass bottle with a simple three-step process, the Kinkajou Bottle Cutter is a DIY device that needs no outside supervision or tools to arrive at a finished product.
Note: At checkout, you will have the choice of the following: Kinkajou Bottle Cutter Standard Kit in multiple colors.
Start with your favorite empty beer, wine, or liquor bottle. After securing the Kinkajou to the bottle and tightening the bolts in place, adjust the cutting wheel to the intended point of separation and make one full rotation around the bottle. This does not cut the glass, rather the wheel scores the glass and prepares the bottle for the next step.
Next, attach the silicone rings above and below the score line and boil up some water. Alternate between the hot pour and cold water from the tap, switching every few seconds until the bottle separates. Don’t worry, you’re almost there. All that’s left to do is smooth out the rough edges with some sandpaper, and a few strips are even provided for you. To get the smoothest edge possible, you’ll need to go up a few grades and add some elbow grease, but you’ll wind up with fully functional and uniquely styled glassware, made in part by you.
