Winner of the Red Dot Design Award, the German Design Award, and the iF Design Award, the KOSMOS ballpoint pen combines a revolutionary magnetic mechanism with a super-minimalist design. The mechanism is intuitive and easy to operate with only one hand Read More
We will release an attachable clip for the Kosmos ballpoint pen in the end of February or March. There is also a part inside the pen which works as an internal counterweight and thus helps a little against rolling away.
Sadly, I agree about the absence of a clip, or at least some shape or section on the body that would prevent the pen from rolling away when put down.
This minimalist trend goes too far sometimes. Great idea, but not thought through. Plus the mechanism relies on a magnet, and I don't want any such magnet near my mechanical watches.
JML54I agree that lack of clip makes it quite minimalist. It isn't a great pocket pen. It makes an excellent desk pen though.
As far as magnets. I just tested mine. It sticks to my steel wireframe desk objects less strongly than your standard refrigerator magnet. My guess is that most descent mechanical watches will have enough magnetic resistance to not be affected. We aren't talking neodymium levels of field strength here.
Not trying to talk you into it, just being objective. The pen certainly isn't for everyone. The weight and feel in hand do make it nice to write with if you have a good Parker refill that you like.
I have this pen from the kickstarter. It's fun to play with and works very well. Ultimately, it isn't see much use since I got my Prometheus Writes Alpha (Fineliner refills are simply the best IMO), but I have no regrets. It's a beautiful piece.
