I admittedly only really got this as a display piece and haven't even inked the pen, but when your favorite pen brand makes a pokemon pen, you get it. I have no complaints, it looks great

Perfect Collectible for a Pokemon fan
Absolutely love the style and sound coming from the device, it's really cool to be able to have an ink pen that can take custom inks in the shape and sound of Pikachu especially with the custom carry case, box and pokeball stand

Great special edition - poor inventory management
Although the box and case weren't the cleanest, my daughter enjoys using the pen. My only gripe is that the case doesn't function the way it's supposed to (no sounds) and it seemed to be a returned product.

The delivered product had the outer box crushed and the box battery was dead.
It can be used as a fountain pen. But I was very disappointed.

Appalling value
If you're a collector, don't bother. you won't get a minty fresh one since they have to remove the batteries, it will be a little marked up. $145 is a nightmarishly scalped price and you will never see that kind of money back out of it.
If you REALLY love pikachu and plan on USING this, it's expensive but not appalling. The wobbly weighted pokeball pen stand is really nice, the lamy safari is a cool special edition, and you get a pen case and converter. Total value here is like $50 or $60 worth of stuff. Whether that's worth $100 premium just to have a really cool pokemon theme is up to you. I'm a hardcore pokemon fan, but I really can't bring myself to use it. I'll probably just resell it in a few years.

The set was new and exactly as advertised. As far as I know, you have to remove the batteries in order to export. So the box and container were opened prior to shipment and the batteries were removed. There were no scratches or mishandling. The cover over the two CR2032 batteries (which I bought) was not completely seated so it was easy to lift off. I used needle nose pliers to pull out the circuit card and install the batteries then push it back in by hand. Got the Pikachu voice to work. Kids love it. It's the standard Safari entry level pen. The adapter works well for easy refills. I let my kids draw and write with it. Great way for them appreciate fountain pens and have fun. Actually got this for myself and it ends-up this is the only fountain pen my kids have ever wanted to use.

My experience is the same as many other buyers. The product was obviously opened and used before. There are scruffs all over, the battery was removed.
I paid more than double over retail for a used set and it wasn't even mentioned. This just isn't worth it.

What's not to love about this; a freaking Pikachu fountain pen with all the cool extras for goodness sake! Pen is a typical Lamy Safari, which means it writes well and is reliable. Packaging is just too cute though, and worth every penny imho.
