Sometimes an item deserves 5 stars because it just completely floors you, and exceeds every expectation you had for it; other times, it gets 5 stars because you cannot think of anything negative to say. This is one of those times.
Picked this up in case of a power outage here in FL for hurricanes or whatever. I have six in a bathroom fixture because: 1) I needed to replace the incandescent bulbs left by a previous tenant; 2) they're bright enough but not jarring, and; 3) I wanted them in an accessible location in case of aforementioned power outage (as opposed to being scattered (which I guess would be okay too if that's your thing)).
These are definitely plastic, as opposed to "safety glass" but that's okay. Originally thought something was wrong when I started replacing my bulbs with these, which stayed on when the switch was off, but that was all user error: these will not turn off when switched off if in a fixture with "normal" bulbs, as is clearly stated in the instructions https://www.qvc.com/footers/el/pdf/V36004_LyfeLite_Instructions2.pdf

Solid, versatile bulbs
Love these light bulbs. We like to use them on frequently used lights around the house to charge them up and store fully charged bulbs. We've brought them on backpacking trips for tent lights, international trips for emergency lights, etc. They are super versatile and sturdy. My only criticism is that they could be a tad brighter for in-home use, but that's no reason to downgrade them here since the specs are clear on the product page.

They are okay, they work as advertised (as far as I can tell... haven't had an actual power failure). I received a box containing two beat-up boxes each with 4 bulbs and one "power socket" or whatever it's called, and there were also two more sockets in a separate pouch for a total of 4. Boxes indicate a 5-year warranty. I was going to take one apart, and conveniently, one arrived with the top broken off already (for the record, these are just plastic, not "safety glass"). I screwed it into the socket and kept turning until it bottomed out... except it never bottomed out, it just ripped out the socket threads. Oops!

I removed the LED board to find a completely unmarked 18650 cell (with two layers of shrink wrap) jammed into the screw part of the bulb, and a small circuit board hand-wrapped in tape. The quality is better than Chinese eBay junk at least. There is a proper LED driver chip. However there does not appear to be an actual Li-Ion charging circuit. Just a protection IC. So I guess it puts current into the battery until the protection circuit disconnects it?

Once charged you can light the disconnected bulb on by shorting the contacts, even with your fingers:

The power failure brightness is decent, maybe half the AC brightness. The light is not great quality, looks like lower CRI LEDs. Color temperature looks 3000K-ish. When running off AC the base temperature settles at about 125°F. I don't have time to investigate the circuit further at this point, but the bulbs actually work and aren't terrible. And probably won't burn the house down. If I can even find 7 fixtures to put them in....

I bought LyfeLite bulbs in the first drop. Checked them all charging and running each for about 12-15 hours. All work as expected, all lights up when I kill the fuse in my home electrical fuse box. Packing cartons are very thin and weak, one came unglued and bulbs were banging all around the shipping box. No damage to the bulbs. They came slightly precharged, so I think company checks them before shipping. They are larger and heavier than regular LED bulbs and stick out a bit from the fixture. The light output is not even close to claimed 800lm/60W, they are as bright as the regular 40W LED bulbs, maybe around 450-500 lumen or less. To LyfeLite defense there is a disclaimer on the box that says light output and wattage may be lower then advertised. It is lower. Because the base of the bulb is large and LEDs arrangement inside it flat the usable dispersion pattern suffers, it is no more than 195 degrees beam angle. On the plus side, these bulbs have color temperature close to advertised 3000K. I estimate around 3200K-3400K compared to my other 120V LED bulbs and the color temp app on my computer. CRI is on the higher side, to my eye it's about 90 or higher. I was surprised how bright they are when charged and running from internal battery - one bulb can light up room pretty decently. All in all a decent LED bulbs if you know what you are buying and have reasonable expectations.

Received mine a couple of days ago. Disappointed. The brightness is quite low. The other unexpected issue is that the bulbs are around 3/4" longer than a standard bulb making it difficult or impossible to fit in some fixtures. One more problem, I had one on for six hours and then tested it in power failure mode. It came on to around 1/2 brightness as noted by others but it only lasted for half an hour. Definitely wouldn't recommend these.

Great for emergencies/ black outs
Not as bright as advertised but still worked. I only used it on blackouts and worked for a couple of hours. Great for temporary light or emergencies.

Great Idea - Poor Execution
They start out at around 500 lumens, instead of 800, but otherwise seem to function as advertised. After a few weeks they are noticeably dimmer and continue to get dimmer till they are nothing more than a night light. After a while they start to flash like a strobe light and you can sometimes make them stop by slapping them. What made me finally quit using them though is that I finally tracked down the cause of long standing radio interference in my house so that I could not listen to my station on 1440 AM without enduringing a loud hum. When I turned off the lamp that I keep the LyfeLite bulb in, the hum went away. I used up three of them in that lamp. It was nice to have the lamp stay on during power failures, but the radio interference is a deal breaker, so I guess I will toss the rest of them.

The idea seems nice. The bulbs are larger than a normal bulb so I could not put them in some table lamps as I had planned because they will hit the shade. I put some in my kitchen fixture, a few minutes after I turn off the lights, the bulbs will come on. I have to turn the lights on and then off again a few times to get them to stay off. This location is a 3-way switch, not sure if that has anything to do with it, but since I did not have any instructions I do not know. I need to try them in a different location. Would be nice if they were brighter
