Weighing just 2.8 ounces, the Maserin Carbon is easy to carry, and even easier to look at. It features a lightweight yet sturdy carbon fiber handle with a gleaming weave pattern running throughout, which gives the folder a refined aesthetic Read More
This knife is absolutely gorgeous, and extremely light compared to other folders in the same size range. Never see silver carbon fiber around, which really sets this knife apart from other CF offerings. Blade steel is N690, NOT AUS-8, and mine is ever-so-slightly off-center. Nothing that would make me too neurotic, though. There were also a few tiny tool marks around the pivot screw - again, nothing to get worked up about. Pocket clip is deep enough to work well in a pair of slacks. Easy 5/5 as a dress knife with very few drawbacks.
Super light and elegant. Carbon fiber AS handles rather than carbon fiber applied over something else. It's the knife I carry when wearing dress clothes. Silver carbon fiber is extra special.
The silver carbon fiber is beautiful and construction is very good. Not a heavy duty knife but it finds my way into my 'dress pants' pocket very often. Interestingly, I have an older model with a thumbstud. This knife does not flip open it takes a deliberate process. It is very smooth and closes easily.
its a nice knife, but it doesn’t lock up and the carbon fiber scales had what looked to be several areas of super glue spots on them. I had to disassemble the knife, and wet sand the scales in order to get the spots off, and then reproduce the liner lock so that it will fully engage!!! After my repairs, and lubrication with KPL it now works like a dream, but it took me 2 hours to rework the knife so that it looks right and functions properly! Who can I bill the $80.00 an hour for my time?
Somewhat disappointing. It looks and feels cheap. On the plus side, it's very light weight. The pocket clip is a nice deep carry clip but only configurable for tip down. The liner lock is thin and sticks a bit making it a tad difficult to close. It's probably fine for most light duty cutting tasks.
