Been using this for discord mostly. Mic quality is exceptional IMO especially for the price. It's better than many gaming headsets I've used in the $100+ range, but you can see a video review to judge for yourself.
The mic cable is generously long, but unfortunately thin. It's still going strong for me after a year, but I imagine it won't last long with improper care (or a cat chewing the cable).
Anyway for $10 refurbished, I have no complaints!
Very good entry into add-on style mics, but buyer beware etc etc
It's very difficult to make a long-standing judgement on a refurbished product such as this. On one hand, I had a decent time navigating my university work from home coursework during Covid lock-downs with only minimal fiddling with the mic in order to use it regularly for my classes (and even then, it was more to do with how awful Microsoft's Surface tablets are for adapting combo audio jacks adapters into the onboard 3.5mm jack). On the other, you do have to sort of gamble on whether or not the refurbishing actually fixed whatever was wrong with the mic to begin with. I've owned the one I have for over a year with no issues, but I know someone that has had to order multiple just from the mic dying in a few months.
I still think this is a worthwhile gamble, especially since the mic does genuinely sound decent for the cost, if being just mediocre overall in sound quality. It far-and-away blows in-built microphone webcams out of the water just from having the benefit of proximity to your mouth and not having the blast the gain to pick up anything.
Marked as "would recommend" only because I have recommended it on multiple occasions.
got this as a refurb for $10 and it sounds better than my laptop mic. no hum like others have mentioned but ymmv. only concern is that you need a dedicated splitter for this on a mac - i wasn't able to get it to work when plugging it directly into the headphone jack
Flimsy, and has a hum to it when recording. It works so there is that. Wanted to add it to my SENNHEISER for gaming but I will just buy another gaming set instead.
