Still no news on the proper cable, in the meantime will have to do with these baby ( 4 pairs of single crystal copper + silver plated) I picked up for 30 shipped to the door. Let's hope the replacement are any better than these or I will be very disappointed in Sennheiser, again.

PlchiongThe mids (voice and guitars) are brightened up, and percussion (cymbals, snare drums, kicker etc) has more present/ energy to it, better separation of instrument/s.
I'm doing A-B on my htc one series phone o/p via fiio A5, with my custom 3.5mm to 3.5mm linker. Album i'm listening now is Fast'n'Furious 7 OST, another favorite I often use for testing is Gundam Unicorn OST 1. At home I'm use my BD player o/p DACMagic+ (or a MOON DAC or a custom dual mono DAC), through my hub, then nowadays usually a O2 or Asgard2 or whichever i hooked up from the day before (various tube or SS)
I just browse on evil-bay and come across this seller based in china, whom I have bought from before and after few email exchanged he recommend/ built one for me.

OZ.Bloody.RabbitYou mentioned Gundam Unicorn OST 1. Can I ask which tracks stands out for you? God I loved the hell out of that series and the music from Sawano is fantastic.
I have Full Frontal on repeat a lot just because it has so much going on it it.
Also might I ask where you got the cable? Might give them a go while I wait for the cables from MD to come.

bwabwa1Full frontal surely got alot of energy in it, I'm most impress with is U.C. 0096, it almost archive a ZEN state for me on few occasion, another treat is Mobile suit (track 5?), very engaging and brings you straight to the front row in a battle.
The seller is based in china, I found him on e-bay.

tessierpgIt wasn't about money/ value, it is about promising one thing and didn't deliver. In communication class, if someone lies (or call it a fraud if that's easier to understand), not on a single occasion but twice or more, you can only wonder what else is he lying/ hiding (an old saying: Not the first time, won't be the last). On the scale of a company brand, it's very bad advertisement and potentially brand damaging.
And for the record, I already have a 10ft 1/4in extension w/ locking in my disposal which I'm using right now.

You should know the answer already — the replacement will be just like the first cable, just 2 ft longer.

OZ.Bloody.RabbitNo seriously dude, you are setting yourself up for an unrealistic expectation and disappointment. You're going to get a standard cable as replacement. To compare it to your custom after-market silver tipped thing is a foregone conclusion. It won't be as good. I don't know why you would ever expect a new stock cable replacement to be better than a custom aftermarket one...
