This is a great little tool! I'm constantly reaching for it to open boxes and packages at work. I was worried about the spring but I've been using this fantastic little knife everyday for months now and the spring has held up great! I did see reviews mentioning that it was tough to replace the blade - I did find it a little finicky the first attempt but I have my method down now and it's a much quicker swap.
I recently purchased a pack of 100 xacto #11 blades and it's true that the tooling on the retractable blade doesn't allow for the blade to sit properly - guess I'll need to get lucky again and find some off-brand #11 blades that fit.
For the first few months of having this blade it worked great but eventually I found I had to replace the blade. Trying to replace the blade is way tougher than you would think... The screws on my RUK were unreasonably tight and almost stripped the screws. When I did manage to get the screws off, I found that the X-Acto Blades I got would not fit because the slots were too short. I feel X-Acto are the most popular hobby knife replacements so it confuses me on why this choice was made... It shouldn't be this difficult to replace the blades.
This is a fun little gadget. Honestly I use it as a fidget tool more than a box cutter. I still prefer to use a snap off box cutter for bigger boxes, but this has a cool factor to it. I mean come on... It's titanium! The stone wash looks really cool, and the paracord snake knot I tied on helps with the grip because it is a little short.
Subtracting one star because finding blades that fit has been difficult for me. The X-ACTO Z series others recommend don't fit, and the brand Ferrum Forge support recommended I use don't even fit.
This is a perfect little craft knife for when you need a sharp blade but dont want to dig out the xact-o set. I keep it in my desk drawer for those times I need some precision. Also, it's titanium. I love titanium.
The Knife has the perfect size for a keychain knife and it cuts open everything very nicely. The shell is like new and still looks awesome. Very good Produkt
