Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

Look at the rear panel on these speakers--there are TWO different kinds of jacks. Then look at the back panel of the TEAC component linked here. I use the multi-pronged microphone jacks with integrated cables (cords). Cables with integrated jacks sold separately on Amazon, eBay, Guitar Center, possibly BestBuy. Totally worth the investment.
Keep in mind, these are POWERED speakers--meaning, they plug into a wall with their own separate power cords. The stereo I had when I was a kid had an integrated power amp inside the receiver, and the speakers were PASSIVE--meaning, all you did was connect the non-electric wire from the receiver to the speaker without plugging the speakers into the wall. BIG difference, so these speakers will not work with most of the stuff you see on Amazon or at BestBuy.
@Chevyguy since these are powered monitors, you need to only connect your phone with the correct cable and they will work just fine. As good as an external DAC? Maybe/maybe not, but if you're a casual listener, you'll be hard pressed to find a difference.
With regards to what kind of cable you need, since this is a set of two speakers, you need a 3.5 mm TRS to 6.35 (M+M) cable. This will carry stereo audio and terminate in L and R channels. Already included in the box.
