Although the satisfying mechanics of a typewriter can be a joy to type on, the analog construction and lack of compatibility makes regular usage a flight of fancy, not function. Delivering a similar tactile feel while making way for modern convenience, mechanical keyboards are a significant upgrade from your built-in pad without going back to traditional print. If you’re looking for mechanical model with extras to spare, the Max Keyboard Blackbird Tenkeyless may be just your type.
This keyboard is one of the very few backlit mechanical keyboards available with Doubleshot keycaps. This is a result of a very tricky bit of product design, where the lettering is actually structurally part of the key, instead of being pad printed ink.
Note: On this drop, you can choose between Blue switch with Red LED, Red switch with Blue LED, and Brown switch with Blue LED.
This keyboard is an 87-key, US ANSI set-up. For everyone else, the heart of the Blackbird comes in Cherry MX Switches. Requiring less actuation force and operating for up to 50,000,000 actuations on each switch, Cherry MX Switches are known for their reliability and audible clicking. Resting right on top, Doubleshot injection molded key caps come with tough matte exteriors with legends that will never wear off.
Between the switches and the caps, individual LED’s serve every individual key, giving you a fully backlit typing experience. You can adjust the key brightness through four levels, as well as the side ambient lighting through three levels. Finished off with gold plated connectors, a heavy duty braided cable, a foam wrist pad, two USB 2.0 ports, and full N-key rollover, the Max Keyboard Blackbird Tenkeyless boasts both the features and the function necessary for a truly high quality keyboard.
