The Modern97 from Melgeek is a mechanical keyboard that aims to take design cues from the natural, organic world and bring them to a modern, high-end setup. Featuring a hybrid polycarbonate and ABS chassis with a speckled matte finish and a subtly transparent base in one of two styles (Ocean and Fountain), the outside of this keyboard flows nicely from top to bottom. Under the hood, you’ll find Melgeek’s upgraded gasket mounting for a modern feel, an impressive slotted PCB in a unique nearly-full-sized layout with hot-swappable sockets, N-key rollover support, and per-key RGB LED lighting. In keeping with its name, the Modern97 is a three-mode keyboard that supports both Bluetooth 5.1 and 2.4-gigahertz wireless connectivity courtesy of the 4,000 milliamp-hour battery on board. Each board ships with Melgeek’s custom Cherry-esque MCR-profile keycaps molded in doubleshot ABS, as well as factory-lubed Kailh switches in your choice of Sonic53, Box Plastic, or classic tactile.
