If you're going to buy this just to use the bluetooth functionality ask yourself seriously why you want to own a turntable. You get none of the analog, all of the record surface noise.
TheWolfIn fairness, you get the analog before the ADC and then again from the DAC before it gets to your ears. The only way you will get all analog is if you connect the turntable to an analog amplifier and speakers. But some people have Bluetooth stereo speakers (like those that we make that sound beautiful) but want to play some of their old vinyl records. That’s who the Bluetooth part is aimed at. Hope that answers your question.

how does this compare to the Sony Bluetooth turntable similar price point

I think you are confusing Michell turntables with these. Mitchell Acoustics seems to have few products - this turntable, powered speakers. Reviews aren't great, either. Also, is either a dead site, or recently hijacked. This turntable is on the level of Monoprice or Parts Express/Dayton ones. While those come with AT-95, this one has the cheaper AT-91 cartridge. While better than a Crosley, this is still not a great turntable - but I'd love a review from someone who actually bought this one. The review that talks about the platter not spinning until the needle is past the first track wasn't encouraging.

ArtamovSo it is A Mitchell, but not THE Mitchell. Thanks for the heads up.

Very tempting, even though my vinyl collection is miniscule. After the USTREAM GO-ANYWHERE dropped last week, I dug a little deeper into Mitchell Acoustics and was struck by the elegance of this turntable. But ... I may have to resort to Bluetooth usage. Is that kind of like watching a 4K movie on an old tube TV? Okay, maybe not that drastic, but you get what I'm saying.
In case this helps! I spent a lot of time trying to balance details with brevity:

EvshrugI saw that when published. Thorough. I went ahead and ordered the Mitchell. Looking forward to exploring this corner of audiophilia.
