Any thoughts on how this compares to a Fiskars X7?
The Fiskars performs near the top of it’s class, yet can be had for about $24 or so on Amazon. When I got mine, it was for an all time Amazon low of $17 or so.
There are some reviews online that compare the X7 to the Granfors Burks axe of the same size, and they performed roughly on par with each other, with the X7 actually chopping faster and more efficiently.
It‘s almost like the Fiskars X7 is like the Morakniv of axes: inexpensive, mass produced, but a top performer. Which is ironic.
Is this Mora axe as good?
$52 on Amazon right now. This is a good deal. Excellent for day or weekend hikes, love mine. Put some durable duct tape near the neck for protection. I also used hockey stick tape and taped it like a hockey stick for extra grip. Overall a very compact, lightweight tool for the trail.
My own personal opinion, but the granfors bruk small forest axe (while more expensive) is by far the best value in a hatchet size axe. They're all hand made and sell handles for when the have eventually breaks (happens to every axe that actually gets used eventually).
How much is the shipping? Hard to tell if this is a good deal without the shipping cost posted. Am I missing it somewhere on this site?

BetrayalClicking "JOIN DROP" (or COMMIT AT $xx.xx) doesn't really commit you to anything.
It does allow you to see shipping cost though. (and join if you want, or not)
So, I don't NEED an axe as I do not have any big trees on my property but....I certainly want it. Don't know why I want it either except that I'm familiar with Morakniv from my years in Sweden. Contemplation has set in and that's never a good sign.
