The BRS is okay for the smaller diameter pot but I wouldn't use it for the wider pot. (not again that is)
My favorite canister stove is usually my Soto Windmaster. Guess it depends on usage and priorities.

I have the Amicus. All the points @chugger made about wind and piezo ignitor are true.

tsanga+1. Amicus is just a fantastic stove, and really should be considered by anyone interested in the MSR. I am sure the MSR is an amazing stove that will perform fantastically, but the Amicus just nails wind-performance, weight, efficiency, quality, and one that is important to me: pot stability. With four supports, even my widest pot (a Sea to Summit frying pan) feels sufficiently stable. That all said, if the deal here were just a little better, I'd be in. Why? I love stoves! My wife will say I have enough, and what I have includes: - Amicus, which is probably tops due to the reasons stated above - Snow Peak Giga Power, which is also just a well made stove, but it does suffer a bit in wind - Primus Eta Spider, which would be my choice in brutal conditions and when weight is not so much of an issue - GSI Pinnacle 4-Season, which is also an amazing piece of engineering, and my choice when weight is less of an issue, and efficiency and/or cold-temp performance is. This is typically my go-to stove, as I know it will work in pretty much every situation, and it sips fuel (when used with a home-made windscreen). The image I've included shows my typical kit, which, while not "light", is complete and compact. It includes the GSI stove, a GSI 1.1L Boiler, a Snow Peak 700mL Ti pot, a Snow Peak 450mL double wall cup, and a GSI nesting bowl/mug.... all of which packs down into the 1.1L pot.

I'm impressed. Main stream company like MSR working with MassDrop and probably the best price (that I've seen) on a newly introduced stove.
And yes I've reviewed it. :)

LikoIt's a Kovea burner. Get it somewhere else without the MSR branding if they don't want you to have it. 😕

Amazon is $44.95 right now. I have Prime. How do I figure the shipping on Massdrop?

ADKGuyClicking "Join Drop" doesn't commit you to anything. But it does allow you to see what shipping charges would be. Then, if you agree, you can "Join" the drop.
Perhaps that button should be relabeled to make it less confusing? (Too similar to eBay's "Buy it Now" which I believe does commit you)

Not aggressive enough pricing, Massdrop. Only $8 more on Amazon with no wait.

Hmm, I've been looking forward to this drop, but as a European, this price is still higher than the price you can get it for around here. And if I include the customs charges, it just does not make sense for me to join this drop..

What?!?! Where did you find that deal?

rockynomadwww.4camping.sk - They now have sale on many of their products including MSR ones - the PockeRocket2 is 20% off at 27.90€, and if you subscribe to their newsletter you get an adittional 3.70€ off, so the final price of the stove comes down to 24.2€, which is just above 29$. You can get free shipping if you're from Slovakia.
All I see when I look at the product photo: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just get a BRS titanium stove.
Smaller, lighter, less than half price and don't have to deal with massdrops long wait time.
You're just paying for the MSR logo on this -and they won't even ship outside the US

spiznasFWIW the BRS doesn't have the wind protectors in the middle, has a smaller diameter for holding pots, and may have some QC issues from time to time. Probably not bad if you order from Amazon and can return it.
Monoprice also sells a clone of the MSR for about $10.

JimboJonesShould note that the "wind clip" that MSR has used on these since the beginning of the PR is kind of a joke...only moderately effective in winds that are 10mph or less and at the top end it can still be snuffed out. But that said, no canister top stove should be counted on for wind resistance because even the better ones like the Windmaster and Amicus will still be losing a ton of heat to the wind even if they don't snuff out. Running them without an effective wind screen is just foolish unless you don't care at all about efficiency (or cooking/boil time if you're impatient). If wind resistance without using a separate screen is most important, then get an MSR Windboiler or Reactor instead with the radiant burner design.
