The keycaps look and feel great! However I did notice some keys were harder to press in using this keyset, which wasn't an issue with standard plastic keycaps. It seems to be a tolerance issue.
Oh my God, DROP strikes again! These keycaps are simply gorgeous!
I have been waiting for this for a long long time, since I had initially put together a custom build of a 60% with a wood case with orange resin. The profile is great and the uniformity between the keycaps is a master built. Who works with wood knows how hard this is. I only have 1 keycap that is slightly different from the rest of the set.
Sounds incredible too, I have never used wood keycaps before and the typing pleasure on this, with correctly lubed switches is simply amazing.
Thanks Drop for making this into a reality. I really appreciate that, and this turned my custom build something even more unique.
The text on the keycaps is sharp and centered, all of them are polished and smooth to the touch on the surface. I have the Rosewood keycaps, the wood grain/color is pretty even and consistent across all the them. Overall, I'm satisfied with the keycaps and look forward to assembling everything once I get my keyboard but I do have a few minor issues listed below.
Issues: Some of the keycaps had a some build-up on the the bottom that needed to be removed or it will make it difficult to set the them on the switch. My right "Enter" key also has "Shift" printed on it so it looks like I have two shift keys on the right, the "F" and "J" key don't have that extra bump that helps position my fingers on the rights keys so I have to look down occasionally to reposition when typing or gaming.
Absolutely gorgeous keycaps that feel very nice.
A few keycaps have excess glue on the bottom, but that can be easily chiseled/filed/etc. off without much issue. A few keys have some paint issues with the text and either the beginning or end of the word has no paint and is rather hard to read.
The only other thing I would love to see would be options for non-standard keyboards like the SHIFT, but they look great on my TKL board. However, that was a known thing going into the drop.
Over all pretty nice key caps with some minor issues.
The caps finally arrives and look/sound nice in practice. The only issue I have found so far is that there is a large amount of excess glue on the bottom of some caps that was preventing the switches they were on from actuating. I had to file down all the glue with my wife's nail file and then all was well.
