i one a pair of these and there really nice . good sound and vary comfortable . good noise isolation and active noise cancellation for the lite bit that manages to leak in .
I did a demo of these and they were interesting but good lord do I not want earbuds in my ears if I'm wearing over ear headphones. I also looked up alternatives and found an article saying the quick hearing test used to create the personalised hearing profiles has found pretty much no real use outside of determining whether newborn babies are deaf or not.
Showpannot a study but in my experience of testing a pair I had a while ago that I returned due to discomfort that the test definitely did something cos my personalization sounded great to me but awful to others and the same applied the other way round when personalized to others, completely intend to get anything they make after this if they solve the comfort without losing the audio.
Aside from the lukewarm reviews, what do you imagine happens to all the units sold at full price on Nuraphone's website, that end up being returned within the 30-day window--for whatever reason?
Maybe they're repackaged and sold at a discount on...some other website?
jonRockWell, as I've mentioned elsewhere on this site, I've never had an unresolved issue with any MD purchase, however, as "M" always tells 007--"Trust no one!"
I got them when they were on Kickstarter, and when they arrived, I had a great couple of weeks showing them off to get people to go wow. The personal hearing profile is a good gimmick, the immersion is fun (especially for movies, Baby Driver got played a lot), and it was before I started to get into headphones, so I liked the sound. But.....
Having the hearing profile only work depending on how I was listening (which wire I was using, Bluetooth, whatever, I never really worked it out, and used to just use it with my phone, because I could access the user app), and having to make sure it was always charged up through the proprietary charging cable, meant that once I'd showed it off, it was too much hassle to use, when I could just throw on some Sennheisers, fostex, 1Mores, Oppos, AKGs, focals etc and enjoy their personality without any preparation.
They're a great idea, and soooo close to being really good, but they sit at the bottom of my pile, and I haven't used them for over a year.
DyroneI swap between focal elex, fostex th-x00s (ebony and purple heart), brainwavz Alara, hd6xx, 1more triple driver over ears, and Oppo pm3. I have a problem. Waiting for my verum ones to arrive from Ukraine, and I swear that's it.
Cool that you live in Melbourne. If you want to try your luck on the eBay auctions, go for it. I think nura is in Brunswick, so it might be worth your while seeing whether you can try them. Anyway, let me know what you want to do, and know that it's a definite option. Cheers ✌️
They told me that the 30 day return policy is only available via their own website and in this drop's case, we will need to check with Massdrop to see if a refund option is available (which I believe it doesn't unless the unit is defective...). This is a huge letdown because getting them via this drop gave you a 30% compared to the price on their website (at least for us Europeans).
Bought these and sold them on, not worth the price. The haptic motor is cool for a while. The personalised audio is fine though it doesn't add any depth to the music. The sound quality is not good. Senn momentums are better at this price point.
