Looks good from a distance but when you get close and hold it you can tell it's of pretty cheap construction. My issue with these pens is that they were sent to me with the ink cartridges already in the pen. This meant that they leaked during transport and delivery. When they arrived, both pens were covered in ink. I can't review the writing since I had to wash out the pens and throw away the cartridges.
I recieved my 2 sets I ordered (1 for me and 1 as a gift), and I really wish they came in a box for the pens themselves rather then the pens just tossed in a shipping envelope as they can still get damaged plus makes it more difficult to wrap.
In comparison to my daily driver of the Faber-Castell Basic, the build quality really isn't that great, which I'm sad to say because I really wanted to like these. I do like how the silicone grip feels, but I wish the grip took up more of the surface of the pen to allow different grip styles. Thing to note about silicone though is that it can easily pick up on dust, and other stuff such as hair, can easily get stuck on it.
Also, one of the pens had a weird mark going around the grip which is very strange. There are also was some chips in the paint. I'm not satisfied with the product right now and don't feel too comfortable gifting them... I was able to return the pens due to these defects, but u am glad I was able to due to the pens feeling very cheaply made. I wouldn't recommend unless you are trying to get cheap fountain pens to throw around or to use as a beginner pen.
This little pen is a good inexpensive fountain pen. There's absolutely nothing unique about it: no special ink barrel and no unusual trimmings. But -- it does have excellent ink flow to the tip. I got a fine point on mine, and it scratches along the paper just beautifully. I'm a teacher and do all my lesson plans with this OHTO pen. I never have blots and never have anything less than the neatest handwriting of which I am capable.
