Big fan of orient, currently own 3. However, hard pass on this watch due to the movement. No hacking, no handwinding.

Probably worth the extra $76 over the also non-hacking Ingersolls dropping this month. I'm not an Orient guy, per se, but I know who makes them. Ingersolls are okay, but the brand (such as it is) is essentially just a label applied to watches produced by the company who most recently paid for the rights to use that label. Could be somebody else next month. Unlikely Seiko will dump Orient anytime too soon, right?

I really like Orient watches, but the slide rule on this thing is just too busy. The hands aren't very aesthetically pleasing, either. And... it's available elsewhere for the same price. Pass.
Best thing to do is use those three vertical dots on the right side of the posting and block RayF. We ALL know what the F stands for, and it's not "fantastic."

Love Orient, and this is yet another very nice and affordable release from them! The slide rule bezel may not be the most useful thing to have on a dial, but the same can be said about tachymetres: either you like them visually, or you don't! Wouldn't have minded something domed on top of that dial, but it's super neat as it stands already!

ravikathYou could alway buy one--then you could see it whenever you wanted! Sort of like having your own beer keg right?

LOVE the balance of not having a bunch of complications but also not having a simple dial! and this is a GREAT price... But it's just simply too big for me. I'd totally reconsider if that terrible rose gold was a neutral-yellow gold, though... I'm told by jewelers that with my warm toned skin, rose gold just clashes too much. Will save my money...sigh...

It's not soo much the case diameter, but rather the lug-to-lug... beyond ~49mm is just to large ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

No signed crown is deal breaker for you?! Lordy, lordy--Is there no cure for sub two hundred dollar watch snobbery?!!! Let's not get too carried away with ourselves--even my fancy pants, $99 Ingersol didn't come with a signed crown! On the other hand--near as I can tell--this particular in-house Orient movement, doesn't seem to be a hacker! If that's actually the case--well that would certainly have ME running to mama!!!

RayFIt's a deal breaker if I was right at the top of the fence. I just don't understand why many Orients come with one and many don't. The sapphire crystal I understand, with regards to cost.

What a shit watch. I feel so about it I might never order from Massdrop again. Since the very day I got it, I had problems with it gaining time, not being even relatively accurate. After a while it started gathering fog and mist under the glass even though I never exposed it to direct water. I wrote to Massdrop and explained my situation, but I only got a generic help desk reply. It has come to my attention that several watches from Orient ordered via Massdrop did not meet the buyer's expectations. I can't shake the feeling Massdrop not only buys obsolete models but bad runs at that, from otherwise reputable brands. I thought the Massdrop platform was a great idea, but I feel hesitant to buy again from them and will discourage all the people I know from doing so.

HeavenhandI ordered and received a Mako II with Pepsi bezel via Drop. Was a great deal and the watch keeps surprising accurate time. No sapphire , but the price was right.
