AudotelI'm not an authority, but got a response from the manufacturer, when I asked them the same question, that I've included below;
"Yes, there are differences between the S1 and S1+, although you may not be able to tell from the exterior. The model number and serial number on the barcode label will be able to tell them apart.
The differences are more on the functionality.
The S1 was tuned specially for classical music lovers. With a superb soundstage, you will be able to enjoy even the subtlest details of your music.
However, to satisfy the other group of music lovers, who are into pop or rock music, we have yet again, tuned our Pendulumic headphones. This time, we improved the soundstage and the music was engineered to be slightly more bassy, but without compromising on the sound quality and clarity. The S1+ is born as a result."
