I also got a defective top plate, there is absolutely no way that the stabilizers fit onto the plate. It's not even close, I can push all i want, there is no clearance at all.
Edit: After trimming some of the plastic with a file, I manage to fit the stabilizers into the top plate. It was advertised as a DIY kit, but I'm a little disappointed.
EggplantI tried going with the build on a broken plate with 10-15 switches but at this point I want to send it back for a refund/replacement but I can't even get the switches out without destroying the PCB/switches themselves in the process....I can't even just take it out and ship it out at this point. It's all one big mess at this point...The ones i stuffed in I can't take out, the rest there is no way I can push out at this point. Epic wtf moment right now. Lucky to anyone that got a non-defective drop.
goldenYea its not even worth it I filed the holes out and got all of them in fine but if you don't file it enough the key doesn't return to its rest position and sometimes you can't even tell until the caps are on (like my spacebar and . key) now I have to pull those keys somehow and somehow file it without hitting the PCB. I don't understand how this happens, did no one try to assemble one of these? Or even look at it? The laser used to cut the top plate looks like it had a few hundred too many beers...
