Any update on the new ship date. I just got my last knife so i got some time before i need a new blade fix, just hoping for an update. Thanks in advance
harrisonjr98valid point. although D2 has been used since... before the 40s it is a well known cheap steel.
but i heard some iffy things from china's D2 (not sure if it is fake D2 or real D2 with a bad heat treat) but i'm gonna test it and see what happens.
Does anyone have insight on if or when this knife will be delivered? The email said they will inform you if it's going to be longer than 30 days but I'm experiencing that it's not until the 30 days are up that they inform you it will be more than 30 days.... Drop hasn't a clue.
HowellzIf you have ever purchased and waited for a Survive Knives knife to be delivered these wait times are nothing. At least Survive Knives is made in the USA! lol
I know its a cheap knife, but somewhat regret buying this one, especially considering you can buy it on BladeHQ right now, and it will be in your hands in less than a week. Whatever, might as well wait till Massdrop eventually sends it or mass refunds the drop. Drop should just buy from BladeHQ and send them our way :(
What a completely incompetent company. Six weeks to prepare an item for shipping and they fail to meet their own deadline. Not to mention they already charged customers for goods they can't supply. I'm positive they knew they could not meet the deadline weeks ago but they they sat on all of our money until the due date with no mention to those waiting for fictitious merchandise. No apologetic 20% discount, no explanation whatsoever. Amazing. I digress.
rumata13It’s the handle material.
Bunch of layers of fiber, sometimes burlap or a paper-like material, compressed with resin.
It’s similar to g10 and gets more grippy when wet.
It’s very popular among the knife community and for this price, with D2 steel, is a bargain.
Another project.
A lot of QSP knives seem to have this box + beak aesthetic to them. I've thought about picking one up several times but just never pulled the trigger until now. For $20 my expectations aren't much. I want to see how this kind of micarta dyes, and I have read enough positive reviews of other QSP knives that I'm willing to find out for myself what this $20 gets me.
erickongThe TL;DR is it's legit, and better than I thought to see for $20.
Good enough that I'm going to sit with it for a bit before I formulate a review.
Oh sweet didn't know it was ti. That's why no give clipping on pockets.
Yeah that black is a bit shiny. Still impressed with it. Can't EDC it because of clip so it the bug out bag it goes
Can't wait to see the reviews for this one , Kershaw ,CRKT,are still pushing 8cr for $40 & $50 (Chinese mfg) . Even CIVIVI offers D2 on their higher end models , far beyond $20.
I contacted QSP, back when we all received our ' ship date got pushed back' notice on March 1st.
QSP apologized of course, and said that it looked like these knives would be leaving their factory on about March 10th. So figuring that did happen, and with an approx. 2 week travel time. They should arrive at Drop during the early part of the first week in April. From there, and with Drop's shipping history in mind. I'm expecting mine to arrive here at the end of the second week in April.
