No complaints, everything is nice quality and came packaged really well. The book is really cool and I definitely appreciate all of the hard work that went into making and translating it. The tester board is awesome; both sides of either plate are finished so there are several ways to assemble it. I considered buying this from Japan but thankfully Massdrop made it available and in English! This is a really fun addition to anyone's mech keyboard collection.
Romly's mechanical switch book is both adorable and impressive. The book is well made for a small paperback, kind of like a softcover Little Golden Book for grownups that enjoy details of keyboard switches. The data and illustrations are tasteful and informative. You can really see that Romly enjoyed putting this together and put in the effort.
The included switch tester covers the switches that the book addresses. It isn't one of the huge switch testers that you can find on Amazon for much cheaper, but that's not its intention. It is a companion to the book, providing a tactile experience so you can feel what the data charts illustrate. I actually enjoyed the minor construction; it was a small scale mirror of the experience of assembling a keyboard.
I do wish the book included actual Cherry switches as well as the Gateron clones, but this is not a big deal. Perhaps additional switches will be included in the next revision. I am pleased with my purchase, and would recommend it for anyone who enjoys data and is curious about mechanical keyboard switches.
I finally got mine, and like it. Yeah, it's a little pricey, but it's a labor of love, and it looks like he put a lot of work into it force gauging it himself and the pictures are good quality too. This is my first tester board, so it gives me a good starting off point to decide what switch I'll end up with in the coming months.
