Named after for the short and playful style of poetry, the Limerick is designed to inspire daily writing. In support of this, Ryan Krusac Studios and Massdrop are making a special offer to the community: any member who posts an original limerick in the Discussion comments will be eligible to win one of the two pens shown below - the winner will be decided by the post that receives the most endorsements when the drop ends.
Working from his studio in Georgia, Ryan Krusac selects and shapes each piece of wood for his pens by hand, driven by a passion for the arts and the idea the philosophy that we can all “Write something beautiful with something beautiful.” Each Limerick’s barrel is shaped by hand from one of five distinct exotic woods. While Birdseye Maple and Kingwood are sealed with clear acrylic to preserve their grain pattern, Olive, Pistachio and Ziricote are finished with an oil varnish that will allow the woods to develop a patina over time.
Note: At check-out, choose from the following wood finishes: Birdseye Maple, Kingwood, Olive, Pistachio, and Ziricote. The standard nib is Medium stainless steel, but you can upgrade to a partially gold-plated Medium nib, or a fully gold-plated Extra-Fine, Fine, or Broad nib (+ $20). You can also add an optional glass-top display case with foam lining made to fit the Limerick (+ $25). This drop is limited to 50 total pens.
The Limerick’s smooth, round barrel contrasts with its hexagonal aluminum grip and cap, which closes and posts magnetically with a secure and satisfying ‘click.’ Fitted with a German-made stainless steel nib, the Limerick feels as smooth on the page as it does in your hand, and accepts international standard cartridges and converters.
