Just a heads up all the new Samsung smart TV Bluetooth can't not be turned off. Their remote use bluetooth. I live in an apt and someone keep trying to connect to my TV. So a notification keep popping up on the top left corner every 5mins. TV is pretty much unusable. I cannot find a way to block it. Tried everything under the sun. Even had a Samsung tech come in. As for picture quality is a great looking TV even in my bright living room. For gaming lag is pretty unnoticeable even for super smash. You can look up Samsung unknow device connect and see for yourself don't have to take my word for it. I hope this helps someone make a correct decision.
A Mitsubishi 1280x800 DLP projector I got for $100 on eBay projects a nice 120" screen in my theatre. Sure it's not 4k, but it's also not a 4 digit hit on my wallet either. And when you're sitting 7 feet away from it, it looks good anyway, and even clear enough to use a HTPC on too.
So I have a really hard time justifying $2k+ on a TV these days. I'm sure this panel is beautiful up close though.
I have only seen them in passing in department stores now. it wasn't for them being priced to Oblivion, certainly would be pretty nice panel to have for more of a living area like above a fireplace or something. of course that's all early adopting prices, give it a couple years and probably be much cheaper anyway. Same could be said about higher-quality brighter projectors too.
NiteNinjaIf you havent bought one and experienced it for a few months. your opinion is fairly invalid. im sure you would throw your projector out if you used one of the TV. i have both a 4K sony projector and a 4k OLED LG tv. I put my money on the lg tv every single time.
It stands for Employee Purchase Program. Many employers have deals with Samsung. I work for the Virginia State Government and I have access to discounts. Samsung also gives students discounts through unidays. If you google EPP Samsung, you can look into it further. Good luck!
Run away from any refurbished Samsung smart TV, or new in general. Very bad electronic design, shitty components, expensive parts and service. I have 50" Samsung paper-weight in garage since they wanna charge me 500USD for parts only. TV has bad LED strips (LCD Backlight died after 2y, after warranty) and I see this is common problem on any model. Naturally this is convenient for them, for you to buy new tv after 2y. You have been warned!
Now why would you want to watch that rubbish? Haha. Sorry that fake news ruined your TV. Considering I have zero burn in you must have had MSNBC on alot. Maybe I'm just lucky? 7 or 8 years now and still going like the day I bought it. Mind you didn't get used alot the first 4 years.
The samsung can run 1440p and 1080p at 120hz. Ive heard you can get 4k 120hz if you use DRS. What refresh rate does that plasma run at? Was going to buy the asus pg35vq, but for $3k I think id rather have a TV that can double as 120hz monitor for single player games. Will stick with my old TN for competitive games. Was going to go with IPS for solo gaming but the contrast and light bleed is abysmal, and no amount of accurate color saturation can make up for that.
