Received mine and seems fine. This is the first non-Snow Peak Ti mug I have ever owned (I own 3 SP's of varying sizes). It seems to be equivalent in quality to the Snow Peak alternative. The real reason I posted this note is to mention that the Kleen Kanteen tumbler lid fit these perfectly. Easy to grab from Amazon.

GingermanI know I'm late to the party, but this is JUST THE INFORMATION I've been scouring the web for! Ordered the Aeromug/Helix combo, bit definitely want a lid for chilly NE and Adk morning coffees! Thanks!

Sorry, but I'm not spending that kind of money to advertise someone's product. Put the name on the bottom if you want, but I'll wait for a plain mug.

Anyone know if these work well for beer? (I know it sounds like a silly question, but I've tried ceramic mugs that are too rough, and make the beer foam up too much.)

Man, that's awesome, thank you! I never imagined that an actual human would snap into action and drink an actual beer to find the answer to my question!

Seems to be a good price, at least in the US. $38.49 including shipping if you get it here. $39.99 + $7.40 shipping at campsaver (of course I'd find a little something else to add to the order to get free shipping; still cheaper here though)

Why does this look like stainless compared to nearly every other titanium mug/cup I've seen?

scopeIt looks like the soto mugs are polished titanium, while the more common gray color titanium mugs I believe have been acid etched to give them the slightly gritty titanium grey surface. Or maybe they have the gritty surface out of the mould, and it saves work not to polish them? Titanium can be electrically anodized into many bright colors during manufacturing or at home. You would need a polished surface free of coatings to anodize it. I remember someone saying anodized surfaces can pick up fingerprints and smudges, maybe that depends on the depth of the anodizing or what voltage is used (and thus also which color is chosen).

How would this mug fare in the dishwasher?

CrabMcNastyI've washed mine in the dishwasher a few times. No damage that I see. No cracks. Writing on the side may or may not have faded but looks fine to me since I never read it anyway

I don't know for sure but I wouldn't think dishwasher temps would stress it any more than dumping boiling water into it.
Truthfully, I usually just rinse mine out after finishing my coffee or tea. Then I might wipe it out with a cloth or paper towel if it looks like it needs it.

CrabMcNastyTitanium is fine for jet engines, missile nose cones, bone implants, that sort of thing. Your dishwasher would be out of its league. TBH it's a little overkill for our beer, too, but has handy properties: it doesn't conduct heat well, so the beer stays colder, and it resists corrosion, so doesn't impart metallic flavours.

In case anyone is interested... This is a Snow Peak 300 inside a Soto 450 inside a Snow Peak 600. (All double-wall)

A word of warning... no handle! It isn't too much of a problem because the temperature does not get through to your hand, but I would call this a cup more than a mug.

McDoogleHandle or no handle, I think it comes down to personal preference. Easier to pack is one advantage of no handle.

ponyespressoSomeone on amzn say the snow peak lid for their 450ml mug will fit this soto 450ml. That particular lid is MGC053. Snow peak writes about that one "D 3.5" H 1" Fits in MG-053 or TW-122 (90*24mm )"
See below for measurements for the S P tw-122 and the soto mug from this drop.
