thelegend7755Hi there,
These were all shipped to drop last week and arrived on June 18th.
The estimated shipping date was a bit later this month for fulfillment to customers.
Pretty garbage price imo, especially after reading reviews and seeing pictures of loose, ugly coils and inconsistent cables. If you pay a premium you must get something better than what a DIY cable maker on mechmarket can make. I’ve paid $30-40 for cables that look significantly better and have tighter coils, especially compared to some of the review pictures. Not to mention supporting an individual making something feels better. I don’t like the trend of all these keyboard accessory companies popping up and thinking “Oh it’s an expensive hobby so surely people will buy this cable for $70-90,” and yes - people end up paying this much and yes it’s not much when you compare it to the price ceiling of the keyboard world but that doesn’t justify mediocre cables being more expensive. If you’re charging more your product should be better when it comes to this kind of stuff and it really isn’t, quality control is iffy and you don’t even have a convenience factor in terms of getting your cable shipped right away.
LeowulfHi Leowulf,
This sale initially occurred on April 4th, 2020, and shipped out later in the year, any reviews popping up since then are based on items that remained in Drop's inventory and were considered in-stock and sold after the sale closed.
Any reviews made are in regard to methods that were used in manufacturing during the summer of last year and are completely fair and valid assessments, we try to evaluate all of them and improve.
We have gone through most and left instructions to contact support through our own website to handle quick replacements, as customer satisfaction is quite literally our only concern.
However, processes previously used were retired last year and new methods are being used that are entirely different to assure the quality of the item is top of the market.
This can be reflected in a more recent sale we have conducted with Drop in later 2020 here: https://drop.com/buy/space-cables-laser-aviator-custom-usb-cable
Current USB-C to USB-C connectors have a proper protocol that allows them to function, the aviator cable does not play a role in this actually, it is just the connectors themselves.
It just so happens the ones we purchase in bulk are are not compatible with each other.
is the $70 option with or without a coil? It says +$20 for a coil but I don't see options with or without a coil. Just Belafonte - Yes - Type C and Hennessey - Yes - Type C
AliachaSome serious quality slipping from one of the supposed *best* small maker cable companies in the community. How did they let such a shoddy coil get packed up without even the slightest visual QC?
