An established menswear brand out of Ontario, Spier & Mackay cut its teeth in the suit business—and it’s got the reviews and reputation to prove it. These suits are available exclusively on Massdrop, made of superb-quality Super 120s wool from Guabello: a 200-year-old textile mill in Biella, Italy Read More
you must be fun at party, where can you get a half canvas MTM suit of good quality materials at that price point. Don't say some corners in Asia or any other developing countries, if you do you are making yourself sillier.
With a suit, it's not simply a matter of learning sizing. There are areas where imperfect drape are really obvious- the area between the shoulder blades, and at the top of the arms at the tips of the shoulders spring to mind. These also happen to be areas that are hard to notice if you're looking at yourself in a mirror.
At the very least, an off the shelf suit should be taken to a seamstress to have minor alterations done after purchase.
Hi everyone! Quick update on this drop. Because the overwhelming response from the community (over 100 suits sold!) shipping is taking just a bit longer than anticipated (about a week). We're receiving the goods this week and will ship out later in the week / early next. Thanks everyone for your patience and look forward to receiving your suits! :)
D-massThe update I received from our Logistics department is that due to changes in imports/tariffs/new regulations for clothing coming into the country there's a bit of a delay bringing the suits in, but we should be almost there. Expect a direct email update soon.
Spier Mackay quality is similar to SuitSupply in my experience, but for a much lower price. And theyre a notch above JCrew Ludlow quality. For size reference I’m a 42 in Spier & Mackay, 40 in Suitsupply Napoli fit, 42 in SuitSupply Lazio fit, 42 in J Crew Ludlow.
I’d buy here if I didn’t just purchase their VBC charcoal Neapoliton cut suit 2 months ago, and already have navy and med grey from those other shops.
Make no mistake though these are the best priced suits for this quality. $299 for half-canvas, italian wool, soft shoulder, and attention to the right details is nuts
For reference, other "Guabello" suits of varying type and specification run for about $400 regular price, with a few falling to $350 on sale (sizing is hit or miss).
$300 is a solid deal considering regular retail price, and a very good deal considering the quality of materials and construction. I don't necessarily need another suit, but Jomers is apparently never going to re-stock at $250. Those were the real steals (provided you wear a slim cut).
Currently on the fence for this one, mostly because I don't absolutely need another suit.
Similar in quality and sizing to SuitSupply. Easier for a tailor to alter due to non functioning sleeve buttons. I own an SM suit and sport coat, 100% recommend.
