Got the key caps not expecting much but once I got them they are good quality and fit well. Love using them with my keyboards that have LEDs in switch as they look great light up.
The build's pretty solid. They aren't as 'hollow' as some other NPKC caps I have had before and I'm not very bothered by the white grid on the surface of each keycap.
Took off a star because the F5-F8 caps were supposed to be orange (as shown in the product photo) but I ended up receiving red caps.
I got this, because I wanted a keycap set that wasn't going to be $35 per key, but still looked pretty far out. I wasn't expecting to have to trim the tabs of every key to make the keys travel smoothly, or to have white filler so inconsistent, that it almost ruins the whole look of the keys. They show these keys as being backlit, but the lights make the digits on the keys practically imperceptible. Cheap price, but they're not going to stay on my keyboard for long.
I'm very happy with this set, the colors came through fantastic and bold. I did have a malformed #3 but it's no problem for me since I'm using only part of the set for my keyboard (the arrows, some of the reds, and the orange esc/enters)
Note that the images may need to be updated for the next round, the Win keys are now using the flag logo and the Menu key is an icon instead of text.
This is my first custom set so take what I saw with a grain of salt because I'm new to this but I really like these caps - I will agree with some of the other reviewers that it would have been nice if the grid behind the translucent shell was translucent itself, or at least the same color as the cap so it was not so noticeable. All-in-all I am pleased - I put mine on a Magicforce 108 that has a white base with a clear case so it all really looks pretty cool.
This drop gets the color right. With lights coming through them the caps actually look alright. My problems with these caps is the same problem that happens with many clear or translucent caps that have opaque legends, the "grid" design that goes beneath the caps themselves really does ruin them for me. Even in the drop photos you can see that the lines vary in width and uniformity and often will overlap into puddles. It really is unfortunate as the retro trans blue and red color scheme is striking to say the least. If youre fine with the less than stellar white plastic applications these caps will be exactly what is advertised! they feel alright to type on but don,t really have the best sound, not well enough to compete with thicker caps or more traditional materials, and they also have a tendency to accentuate the spring noise in tingier switches.
