Mimicking the traditional Japanese process of using a single piece of cloth to wrap a wide array of items, the Vibram Furoshiki shoes are a quick and minimal alternative to traditional lightweight shoes. Simply slip your foot in, pull the straps tight, and you’re ready to go Read More
EmmaLFor the gram counters, I’ve just posted photos of Women’s size 41 on scale. The pair together weighed 312 grams. Bag with Vibram logo attachment is 41 grams. And without the rubber Vibram logo attachment piece it’s roughly 32 grams for bag.
There wasn’t a lot of clear info around whether weight was 1 shoe or pair, and bag etc.
Hope that’s helpful.
EmmaLEmma thank you! This is very helpful. I thought to take them for river crossings, but at 300+ grams I will cross just in my trail runners. Usually they dry out fast. For the case of cold water streams I'm taking a pair of Gortex Socks that I put on top of dry socks and then put on my wet shoes. This works fine.
justinb6003Second the NONONO,. If your new to climbing there is so many different types of climbing. Bouldering, indoor, traditional, and mountaineering. Good news is if you get good shoes they will last a very long time. Easily bought over 10 pairs in my years and still have 2 pairs from the early 1990's that still get used from time to time. If you're going to be starting on sport routes, bouldering, or indoor get a mid priced climbing shoe without the aggressive concave arch like Balack Diamond Momentum because your going to burn through them learning. Going to be goofing around on boulders and traditional routes under 5.9, might get away with La Sportiva Mythos (it's a comfort thing..old guy old feet). if going to really go into the zone and do multi-pitch mind benders might try La Sportiva TC 's. Most of climbing is mental then feet and legs and remember gravity is a bitch. Enjoy..
justinb6003Berryhill is right. Rock climbing shoes have a stiff to very stiff reinforced toe box. This helps you to use small cracks and protrusions to support your weight.
RayFI’ve actually had compliments from friends. Mine are red and I usually wear them with black clothing. Pair with red lipstick and I’m stylin’ them. Lol
What is the difference between men's and women's aside from the size label? I'd love a pair in red or blue but if it says "WOMEN'S SHOES FOR GIRLY GIRLS" on the heel I might not be into it.
Oh interesting, I wasn't aware they changed these ones for 2018. I do wish they had more colors to choose from for men. I really liked the blue crazy fun colored one, although after MUCH wearing they're slowly starting to fall apart. I'll have to give the new ones a try, I thought the older version fit me pretty well, but if the new ones are supposed to fit better that'll be even better.
Drizzt321Hopefully these are the new ones, but they are using the new naming convention which are the 2018 color names. The pictures are referencing the 2018 ones, so these are worth it, IMO, than the older ones. I am using the ones, to see how long they will last, and so far, after two washes in the washing machine, and wearing them to work everyday, for the past couple of months, they are pretty good. Hopefully they will last longer, but so far they are going strong. No rips or anything, yet.
