kstokleyHa! Amazon pricing at its finest. When I posted the link, 'zon was asking $338.64. Apparently the sun has set and risen again since then and they've taken the time to rwthink their position. Well, good for anyone who got in on it yesterday, and with $7 being ~2% of the purchase price, good for anyone who gets it here today. Who knows what tomorrow may bring!!

dreaming of a day when good rice cookers actually work on 220-240 volts out of the box :'(

waywardsonAgree absolutely. Why is this global restriction not even mentioned in massdrop's description. From my understanding, unless you live in the USA (or country with similar voltage) this device is pretty much useless. Hey Massdrop, have you thought about making your products available to people outside the USA?

I missed this one, sorry for the late reply: You don't need the best, been eating rice for 30+ years, cheap $30 rice cooker will do the job effortlessly compared to the stovetop.

I have had the 10 cup model for about a year now and this thing is ludicrous. It will keep rice hot and fresh tasting for upwards of three damn days. We went from eating rice about once a week to three or four times a week once we got it. We are very careful to clean it gently but it is easy to clean and very well made

But.... why? Does this do a significantly better or faster job than the $25 simple rice cookers like this https://www.target.com/p/aroma-electric-20-cup-rice-cooker-with-steam-tray-white/-/A-53621725 ?

obgynbbqBTW, if you want to compare what these bad boys are capable of, Zoji has a "compare" feature on their web site. I'm using it to shop around for myself, here's a few that I cherry-picked... https://www.zojirushi.com/app/compare/rice-cookers/result/114,147,4,104

obgynbbqYes, it does a better job. It doesnt leave a half inch of burned rice on the bottom, unless you like that. Some people love the burned rice on the bottom, it's a thing. This can also prepare Gaba rice. Some people simply wont get it. My mother steamed rice on the stovetop for 70 years, then she had my rice. The rest is history.

Amazon currently lists this model and size for $369.99. So the savings is significantly less than what the above would lead you to believe. :/
pugcakeWe are certainly not trying to be misleading. For consistency, all drops list the MSRP since that remains the same for the year. We can't list the lowest comp price because that number changes almost daily.

EnigmatikIt was or still is cheaper because demand and supply. What people want most - they will charge more for it.

I own a Zojirushi 18-Cup Rice Steamer that I bought for $64 at Amazon. Everyone raves about my rice. I cook basmati, sushi, brown, mixed grain rices in it, just not plain white. I cook other grains in it as well. In fact, I make vegetable pilafs by adding things like soybeans, cooked chickpeas, peas, corn, (different things for different recipes I make), etc., to the top of the rice or grain I am about to cook so that they steam with the rice/grain while it cooks. Sorry, I am at a loss as to why I would pay over 5 times that price to only gain what seems to be a delay cook feature for me and slower cooking times. Can someone enlighten me to why I would switch?

How is this considered a drop when it’s $301 on Amazon
NY415I think you may be looking at a different model. This model is NP-NVC10 which to my knowledge has never been sold below $370 anywhere.
