Hi all, we made a mistake on this one. No excuses, we just screwed up. Actually it is 100% my fault. We will get them shipped ASAP. Hopefully today but I cannot confirm that for several more hours. Our sincere apologies.
They all went out on Friday from our facility in Camarillo, CA. You should have tracking numbers by now. And even if for some reason you don't be assured that all orders were shipped.

I swear all of these brands (AKRacing, DXRacer etc) come out of the same exact factory in china. They're all copies of eachother.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I have no doubts about the quality here, I am just joking around. You have to admit that the sudden explosion of very similar chairs is kind of funny, though.
PigmonkeYYes, I understand and agree.  While most of these chairs are made by anonymous OEM factories, we are a real seat company, starting with auto seats in 2004...it's even in our company name.

Hi all,
It is true that a few of the chairs missed the original shipment due to human error. We print the labels in one batch, then apply them to the boxes, then put the boxes in a container that FedEx drives to their distribution center. The tracking number is assigned when we print the label but you won't see any "movement" until it gets to the FedEx center. But by then it is literally moving and in the FedEx system. In this case a few of the units for this drop missed the original shipment and the tracking numbers were printed. We misplaced some of the labels and didn't discover until yesterday, after the holiday weekend that about 10 chairs from this drop did not ship. We are rectifying that now, everything will ship out today and you will see movement on your packages. Sorry for the screw up, but we don't have one of those sophisticated warehouse where everything is computerized and automated. We still use people power and people sometimes make mistakes.

AKRacingAmericaA mistake is easily forbidden when people recognize it, especially because it's so rare to see people apologizing for their own mistakes (I dont know in other countries, but in France it's always easier to blame the other ones than to say "it's my fault I'm sorry")!
I have my AKRacing (the model for tall people) chair here and I love it.

AKRacingAmericaI want to say THANK YOU for having a person handle the shipping. I know it led to an error but that happens, people make mistakes. I'm sure you are going to get all sorts of angry messages because people are going to have to wait a few extra days for their chairs but just know there are some people out there who appreciate the fact you created that job.

i checked the official website and both chairs had back angle lever picture which said u can lock it at any angle and while reading the specification both of them had "No" on the angle lock so can u really lock both or any of them at any desired angle? @Michael_AKRacingAmerica and is there any other differences between the player and overture series

yah thnx alot i just wanted to make sure that i can lock it in the recline position tilting it isnt a big deal ill order one in this case
entermaxReclining refers to the back and the back only, and yes it will recline and lock at several positions all the way to 180° angle to the seat cushion (flat). Want to have the back at a 100° angle to the seat cushion? The back will lock and be able to hold that angle. Want the back at a 110° angle to the seat cushion? It can hold that angle too.
The chairs also can tilt the seat cushion (butt cushion) back a few degrees like a rocking chair. That’s different than what you’re asking about. THIS 2017 model can change the resistance to rocking back (and lock upright), but the upcoming 2018 models can rock back to a contemplative angle and lock there.

For the domestic shipping of the product, what's the estimated arrival? It seems international Massdrop users (Canadians) have gotten their chairs. I'm on the west coast (Northern CA). FedEx hasn't updated the tracking since it's been shipped (Sept 13th). FedEx says, it's shipping from Camarillo, CA, so what's happening? (@Massdrop)

You still haven't answered one of my questions. What is the fastest manner? When can I expect the my chair? Massdrop has already lost 3 days of shipping.

Hello Everyone,
Just want to make everyone aware of the following.
In the photos listed in this drop there is a small accent color on the lower portion of the arm rest. Since these photos were taken the product has been changed to an all black arm rest.
The president of AKRacing called me this morning when he realized that the photos were not correct. He called me directly and wanted to make sure this was clearly communicated to the community.
You will receive this exact chair in the color of your choice, however the arm rest will be all black.
Cheers.

I'm so sorry to keep bugging you guys, but I seriously just bought the Premium chair last night. Is this chair a better fit for me? I'm 6"0' 160lbs (I'm thin though). Would the Overture be a better pick? I don't even know if I could refund my previous purchase but I would appreciate a response soon very much. I will promise that once I receive the chair I end up with I will blitz to amazon and leave you an amazing review.  What is the difference between the two chairs?

Review: AKRacing Overture Series Gaming Chair
Pros: ++ Tall back to rest head against for long sessions. ++ Includes two pillows for head and back. ++ Chair material is comfortable. (Not too firm and not too soft. Just right.) ++ Good instructions and easy construction.
Cons: -- Heavy initial out gassing of material. (Took 3-4 weeks before the smell dispersed.) -- No padding on arm rests! -- Bolstered sides limit seat space and are too firm. (Bad for larger people and may get in the way if you like to tuck your leg under the other leg.) -- Head pillow is limited how far up and down it can be adjusted due to seat design.
Other thoughts: As the review shows, the arm rests don't have the same soft foam padding like the rest of the chair. It is a hard foam which may be uncomfortable. Since they are going for a racing seat look-a-like, the racing seat design limits the chair. The holes the "seat belts" would go through, aren't long enough to give you a good range of height adjustment for the head pillow. The bolstered sides just aren't needed for a computer chair and just get in the way.
Again, good design for a car seat where restraint is vital, but should have been optimized for freedom and comfort since it's for a computer. Would I buy this chair again? Probably not. However, if they addressed the firm armrest padding, with an optional upgrade, and head pillow adjustability, it would be an improved design and something I would definitely recommend.
If you can take anything away from this review, it would be the following: If you do decide to get a higher dollar computer chair, try and sit in them or a similar one first or find a friend who has one. That's the best advice I can give you and other people would agree.
Overall I am happy with this chair. I can sit in it comfortably with the seat up or laid back.
Hope you're not discouraged too much by this review, just make sure you know what you are actually buying by trying it out first is all. Happy gaming.
Max_PowerThanks for the generally positive review. I just wanted to clear up one point. I think people might misunderstand where you say "no padding on the armrests". That might make it seem like it is hard plastic and no foam. There is foam and padding on the armrests. It is not soft spongy foam, it is firm. It is one of those things with gaming chairs, a lot of people have controllers or other devices when gaming and tend to lean forward and don't want to sink too deeply into heavily padded armrests.

AKRacingAmericaI have edited the review to reflect the proper physical properties of the chair. I agree with "heavily padded armrests." Bad choice. I was talking about a little bit of softer padding. Maybe an upgrade your company can add on in the future?
If you guys offered this, people would buy it. I would buy the upgrade if you come out with it. Just let me know. I would upgrade the chair if I could as much as I do my PC. Having the chair is nice and fun. Thank you.
Have a good day and let me know about the arm rest upgrades.
One of the hardest things about picking a chair is wading through the size requirements. I’ve been mostly OK with the “one size-fits-all” chairs in school and most offices (always had to tilt the school chairs back on their rear two legs, and get yelled at by teachers ;), but visiting NYC last weekend I got to try out a chair that seemed to fit perfectly, kind of surprising! @Michael_AKRacingAmerica I saw a lot of measurements for individual parts of the chairs on your company website, but there’s so many measurements and chair varieties that it put my brain in a bit of a fog. Is there a tool on the site where it asks you some questions and narrows the selection down to chairs that would fit? If curious, I’m 6’1”, like 180 lbs, when I sit there is about 15” width between the outer edges of my thighs and 29” from seat to the base of my neck. thanks!
I win! We currently have two chairs... a cloth office chair with the arm rests jammed at two slightly different heights (my chair all through college), and a rickety wood chair with the bottom support pegs that pop out every time you sit in it. She just started working from home this week (with me).
search

She sat in her chair a bit here and there, but this week I suggested she sit in MY chair... she was sooo much happier. My tuckis maximus weeped a sad song though, every half hour I had to get up from aching sit bones and pain in between my shoulder blades. She agrees... if we’re both working from home, it only makes sense to have two good chairs! Also, just got paid today!
Last problem... there’s not many reviews of the AK Racer chairs (know any good ones?). I’m sure you understand, it’s hard to buy a chair online without even trying it out. I do appreciate your multiple replies, especially when you must be getting similar questions all the time.
EvshrugOh no it makes me feel sad for your back and tuckis maximus, it seems like this drop is perfect timing for you! Here is a review on Overture: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3l__GaaVSj4 Here is a review on Player: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yNU7hjMEYU
Both reviews are very truthful and in my opinion on point. Please tag me if you have any other questions.
