So initial impression is leather is OK, but the stitching could be better.
I have Lamy Safari and Al-Star in the ones where there are pens in them. Getting the pens out seem to be cumbersome right now, but hopefully that will change after the sleeves are broken in.
These also seem so new that some edge dressing rubbed off the first few times I handled the sleeve.

ChurchillWFor the price I think these sleeves are great but I do agree the stitching needs a bit of work and quality control could be better but it looks like yours are especially bad. I'm still considering joining this drop for another. I'd reach out to Allegory about yours!

If you're concerned that this sleeve is too tight for your favorite pen, try this: Get the sleeve thoroughly wet, wrap the pen you want to use with the sleeve in plastic wrap, insert the pen to the exact position you want and let the leather completely dry with the pen inside. The leather will stretch to fit the pen like, well, a glove. This is done with leather knife sheaths and results in an exact, tailored fit.

it-manI have a cheap faux leather one now that I use to keep my one EDC pen from twisting open in my pocket. I've got a Karas Kustoms Fountain K in copper. Super nice pen, but as with all screw on caps it tends to free itself when I had it clipped loose in my pocket. Enough ink stained pockets that a nice leather pen holder will be worth it over the cheap one I have now.
I also EDC an allegory brand kangaroo leather notebook, so I know their quality is decent.

I'm pretty pleased with these. I ordered 2 of them. I have two favorite pens and want to protect them. They will do very nicely for that task. For the price they are great. The stitching wasn't as bad as expected based on what reviews I have read.
