Bought one of these and it was complete garbage. Dead on arrival.
AND THEY DIDN'T WANT TO TAKE IT BACK!
Had to involve my credit card company and then they wantes me to pay to ship it back as if it was a warranty claim and not a completely defective product that arrived nonfunctional.
Stay away, or atleast buy from a local store with a good return policy. You might need it.
With @nzchicken on this one: the kettlecharge is incredibly heavy and inflexible for what it does - a Powerpot 10 (used to be 'X') weighs 2/3 as much, can be used for actual cooking, and you can store your stove & so on inside.
So all it does is boil water? I just got a Power pot from Powerpractical the other day, and they will at least let me cook things at the same time. They had blemished ones for $49, but usually $100. Definite take a power pot over this thing, as you can put stuff inside them too.
Seriously what is this thing?! Starts at 129.99? You could roll the dice of life a million times and maybe only have 1 situation where you would need this (really NEED). If I was given this a door prize or something it would never leave the box.
I'm liable to kick the living daylight out of anyone who would ask me to carry one of that device and it's accessories in my pack up the mountain for a multi day hike and camp trip. Seriously, just stay home.
TexMonOn the other hand, it might be a useful item to keep at home if you live in an area with a history of strong storms knocking out power for several days.
SitwonIf the area is well documented with history of strong storms knocking out power, I would move away or would not move there to begin with. That would be priority number 1. Solar powered gadgets would make more sense in such situation. This gadget is gimmicky junk IMHO.
