Part of a production run of just 250 pieces, the Boker and CountComm Boss is a beefy folder built for heavy duty tasks. Designed by Jesper Voxnaes, a Danish knifemaker known for his stout blades, the Boss lives up to its moniker. It’s equipped with a 4.8-millimeter-thick blade made from some of the best steel on the market in S35VN. The blade can plow through tough jobs with little help—but just to ensure it never fails on you, the Boss has a strong titanium frame lock. To keep weight down (though the knife is fairly heavy), the Boss sports a carbon fiber scale on the show side. Finishing the design is a blue titanium pocket clip for a bit of added flair.

Developed by Crucible Industries (one of the leading manufacturers of specialty steels for the cutlery industry) and Chris Reeve (arguably the most famous knifemaker in the world), S35VN is perhaps the most balanced blade steel ever created in terms of all-around performance. It’s made through a process of powdered metallurgy known as CPM, which results in near perfect consistency in the distribution of carbides. Compared to conventional melting practices, the CPM process produces a steel characterized by superior dimensional stability, grindability, and toughness.
