I'm very disappointed in Massdrop. Three days ago you sent out an email saying:
"Bulk order shipped! The vendor informed us that the group's order was picked up and is on its way to our warehouse in New Jersey. Based on the tracking provided, the order is scheduled to arrive on 10/5. "
So this is how a six month long wait ends.
I'm curious. Who actually received their cable? I ordered the light blue/white one.
Yeah, this really strikes me. What it appears to me is that those previous updates are nothing but lies. Seriously MD? What the heck? You just said that they are on their way couple of days ago. I don't mind the wait actually after all this, as long as they deliver. But now, I don't know if I can trust MD anymore. I AM SOOO CONFUSED!
I'm also inclined to conclude that someone was blatantly lying; could have been the vendor to Massdrop, or Massdrop to us. Not once in this half year wait was anything about backordering mentioned. Presumably though, backorder issues were the cause of each consecutive delay. According to the date in the e-mail, Massdrop hasn't even received the shipment yet. Did the vendor lie to Massdrop and recently confessed to sending out an incomplete shipment or did Massdrop knowingly string us along knowing that this would be the case?
I hope massdrop could make a statement on this to make things clear. I am fully aware the risk of all kinds problems of group buy. Delay? Fine. But this situation is unusual. Definitely like you said, either vendor or massdrop is lying to us. However things still don't make sense to me. If either the vendor or massdrop knew that this gb won't be fulfilled, why bother making up such drama and pretending everything was fine at the first place? They don't seem to gain any profit out of that. Again, I am really confused.
Specific colors or color combinations may be affected by the back order. Although my black cable was back ordered and that is a standard color. If anyone received thier cable, post delay, please let us know your cable colors so we can figure this mystery out.
Fuck you massdrop! they were not back ordered they fucked themselves over with this bullshit so dont give us some bullshit excuse! fucking lying pieces of shit...

Oh man, this sucks. I ordered the green/white and received it on July 27. HOWEVER… I bought this to go with the last Planck drop (literally ordered the day before I ordered this, and both had similar delivery dates)… and I just received the Planck last Wednesday (09/27) BUT they somehow didn't have the switches I ordered in stock so they said it'll be ANOTHER 2-3 weeks before those deliver, assuming no delays which seems increasingly unrealistic. I got the switch delay email a day before the kit arrived (after it had already been shipped). I did get a bit of a discount on the severe kit delay, and now they are throwing the switches (Zealio) in for free… but this is getting a little crazy… so yeah, I got my nice cable, but I'm still waiting with y'all.
We're not waiting, our orders were all cancelled. $5 coupon to compensate for six months of waiting.
Missed that detail… ouch.
I ordered a blue/white cable on march 26, no updates only to see it completely canceled like others have with the $5 credit.
But hey I got $25 credit for the planck delay(and thankfully the 78G zeals weren't delayed), but I was looking forward to that cable to go along with the planck.
Interesting followup. I asked Massdrop support to provide the name of the maker for these cables. They responded and said they do not disclose supplier information on their drops. When I pointed out that, well, almost literally every other drop has a brand name or source information, the customer service rep kindly informs me that they can't disclose for this drop specifically. Hmmmmmmm
