The Douk Audio K5 USB DAC/Headphone Amp may seem, at first glance, like it's focused solely on desktop conversion and amplification for any pair of headphones. And even if that were the case, it would be certifiably capable, thanks to its ultra-clean headphone outputs and very low noise floor. The ESS9038Q2M and SA9312 provide excellent digital conversion, delivering up to 384-kilohertz, 32-bit resolution and support for DSD 256. Of course, the real trick here is that there’s also a SPDIF digital optical output, which allows you to send the single out to your other console units that may only support this option, while also delivering top-notch resolution. The K5 is set in a sleek and simple enclosure with at-a-glance controls including tone and gain control toggle switches right on the front so you can dial in the sound you’re after.
