Product Description
Inspired by the bottom-dwelling Nurse shark, this folder takes care of all your cutting needs. Designed by Michal Gavac, the Nurse is available in three distinct styles.
We are all bout the Gavko Nurse. Continuing with Michal Gavac's shark themes this is a stealthy and sleek creature that is built solid. This knife is both elegant for the city and a great performer for the backyard. It's extremely well-balanced in the hand and will provide blade fans a go-to pocket carry.
These collabs are definitely getting pricier. They're losing the 'inarguable deal' luster that made them so attractive in the past. I like this design and may end up still snagging one, but I don't like the trend of ever-increasing prices from the company that was supposed to be all about value from group buys. They've even dropped the first-run discounts, which tended to dull the pain from the constant delays that inevitably show up on these, super disappointing, I'm buying less and less on here in general (admittedly not a bad thing) but most of the deals now are on the sub $50 knives and those get old fast.
Hey folks, Mike here.
my second massdrop/drop collaboration and to me just as exciting as the first. Nurse is one of my most popular models and having the prototypes here for several weeks now, im super happy with them just like i was with the Threshers. WE and Drop did an excellent job in my humble opinion. Great action, superb finishes and not so terrible design if i can say so myself :) I might be biased, but im sure you’ll forgive me and i dont think you’ll be disappointed.
decided to go with a flipper this time because Thresher was a nonflipper and its always a lot easier to just grind the flipper off if you want than the other way around :)
Thank You all so much for the continued support and thank You Drop and WE for great work on these.
Everybody stay safe and healhy,
Best Regards,
Mike
@GavkoKnives can we get a nurse with a lonnng lonnngg loonnnnnng thumb blade hole? lol. Also, I vouch for having the sixgill produced! Sixgill with an amazing mechanical sound!
Also, if you are ever down to collab on a project, let me know man! I wear many hats :)
And I didn't know about this so I didn't get one but if anyone wants to sell theirs to me, let me know! I really want one! I can't afford a real nurse at the moment... Or sixgill... pretty much any of his non-production knives lol. Hopefully soon in the next 2 months or so.
After buying multiple knives initially because most options had lefty something, I won't be buying anything else from this stupid *** company. We is lefty friendly unlike Reate, so the fact this doesn't have a lefty option is completely the fault of Drop as I asked Mike about it about a month ago and he said it was in their hands to determine if the option would be available.
You have **** on your lefty customer for roughly the last year, so I will just take my business elsewhere effective immediately.
Omniseedif it was $180, i'd be fine with a buy one get one free =)
oh wait... great idea, do makers batches!
-all ferrum forge collabs
-all gavko collabs, etc.
Bit of a thicc girl then? Any hope for an eventual non-flipper version? Not everyone has access to the tools necessary to accomplish a flipper-delete nor the expertise to do so. Anyway, thank you for the reply. I am a big fan of your YouTube videos on blade-making.
azraelsbladeSo so, could be thinner, but its kind of typical for many production knives if you notice. I dont know about the no flipper. People have to ask drop team about that :)
Hey everyone,
Quick update on the Nurse. Unfortunately, we’re tracking a few weeks behind on production. We’re now expecting the knives to be picked up from the vendor on 8/10, so we’ll be delayed in getting them shipped out to you. We’re now estimating shipping in the fourth week of August.
We apologize for the delay here. If you’d prefer not to wait the additional time, this run is open for cancellation via your Transactions page (https://drop.com/transactions).
Its kinda random tho. I've ordered a couple flippers or thumbstud knives and I've always received them without any issue. Its just always a damn gamble.
Funny thing about those little protrusions (flippers)--last time I crossed the border on a trip to Canada, my vehicle was selected for a random search. And yes, the Customs guys found at least two or three knives they took exception too.
One young Customs guy held up my Kershaw Leek and said: "In Canada, this is the same as a gun!" He must have noticed the confused look in my face, and added: "Because you could walk up to someone, push this lever, AND STAB THEM!"
Crazy, no? But that's what the guy said.
Now in fairness, Canadians think owning an AR15 with a 30 round magazine is crazy too. Couple of folks in California and Connecticut think along the same lines.
Me? I think its crazy that owning either the knife or the rifle, makes other people think I want to kill someone.
I mean, you know, I'm just a regular guy--I don't want kill anybody!
