brimw99They sent out prototype review builds to key members and reviewers. They had the absolute garbage original version that was the fugliest keyboard ever made and the reason they're reworking this one. It had the worst 5-head you've ever seen with a mile between the number keys (upper row, not cluster) and function keys. SO glad they listened to everyone complaining. It's a good sign when a producer is willing to make design decision changes even after they probably had the tooling set for the original design. Kudos, MassDrop (not a fan of the new name, though, sounds like a site for scatologists).
If they would have started with this, I would have already pre-ordered, as I was in the market for a full size format or at least a compact 1800. But I already bought another keyboard after seeing that abomination. They lost a lot of sales off the old design, but the new one I might jump on at a later time. Really like the new layout and look.
