The Tower does NOT sit flat, the power on button at the bottom sticks out beyond the platform surface so it hits the table first and thus make the tower wobble. It is beyond my comprehension how can this kind of issues happen since you only need to put the tower on any flat surface to notice...
NOBODY has even open one from the manufacturing and tried it out?
They are sending thicker pads to fixes the issue "for free" but for people outside the US, since we need to pay customs fees, it does not end up free. 30€ extra in my case, for an already expensive product that i already paid +50% in customs fees+VAT beforehand... so... no thanks.
I am going to have to fix it myself aswell, it is not hard but for the price, i dit NOT expected this problems...
This needs to get fixed for v2 and:
You should make the plaque optional (removable)
Pack it with a 2$ 2 pin power cable so that it can be used to externally power the PC on (and maybe another 2pin if needed to power up the LED so that you dont even need the batteries??) This needs a design change of the bottom and a couple wires running through the tower to connect to the switch pin which in material should not be much more cost (i can not talk about manufacturing though) but add SO MUCH MORE VALUE to the piece.
As of right now, and until those problems are resolved, i can not recomend this for the price, i am sorry.
RithI stand corrected. This is what customer support just answered me (quoting since this does not allow images):
"As was mentioned in the email you are replying to, we only offered the pad if you replied before the end of September requesting it. "
So... no, they are not sending the pads anymore. W T F.
** EDIT. Update: they now said they still have some left and will send me one. Feels just fair to update the review
It overall looks really nice and has a ton of beautiful details, still a bit expensive especially when the Eye of Sauron key has to be purchased separately
The item itself looks nice, but the lighting leaves some things to be desired. The LED underneath the switch at the top of the tower isn't particularly bright, so the effect isn't that great. The internal lighting for the tower looks good.
The worst part about this item is the fact that the light switch protrudes beyond the bottom felt ring underneath of the tower. This means the tower cannot sit flat unless you add more material to the ring, or (what I did) remove material from the physical toggle switch underneath. This isn't a difficult fix, but the issue is so obvious that I wonder why nothing was done to address it before the products were shipped.
IndoHi, thank you for the review. You likely already saw the email, but I left a comment detailing some of the improvements that we are working on and sending for these units here (fixing the switch clearance issue).
The tower itself is very detailed and looks great. The Eye of Sauron key (that is sold separately) can be pressed to light up the tower, but it gets stuck every time because the opening is too small for it.
lordloreAppreciate the feedback and review. We sent out an email detailing some improvements that are in the works, also highlighted in this comment (including a clearance fix for the sticking key).
