Just got and put these caps on the VA87M I ordered at the same time. You know, the keyboard model used to sell the keycaps? The spacebar stabilizers do not fit the VA87M - they're too wide. Quite disappointed.
bembletonCan you post a picture of the problem? I've got the demo model here with me and it seems fine so I'm just curious if it's a problem with the caps or board
AlexPkThere't not much to get a picture of to be honest. The spacebar does fit onto the mounts, but it gets stuck at the bottom because it doesn't fit quite right. I have used several other MX-style caps on this board and none of them have this issue (stock Ducky caps, WASD caps, and some EliteKeybords.com caps all work fine).
AlexPkHopefully you can see here that with my keyboard the spacebar rides too 'high' (closer to the row of keys above it than the alt keys to either side). Oddly, this is the same if I flip the spacebar around, it still is too close and runs into the keys above it when depressed.

bembletonOK, I see the problem. On mine I'm using the stock Costar stabilizers which are set wider than the Cherry slots. I don't think there's much we can do about that since SP doesn't put the extra mounts on there, but you can contact support in case they know something. Otherwise if you've got some spare caps laying around you don't love, you can steal the mounts from them and mount them manually like this https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/2kw3rl/guide_how_i_modified_a_standard_625u_spacebar_to/
rolloverI think you're picture might be a little too big to upload, but what keyboard are you using? Sitting too high is a little weird. Does it use Costar stabilizers?
Here is another try, I am using the Lolita Spyder from another drop here so you likely have one you could test yourself. Any thoughts on the missing keys? None of us seem to have heard back from Massdrop support on that, are you saying we should be contacting the vendor directly with these issues?
You can see here how much closer the space key is to the row above than the other keys with the proper clearspace.

I included a view of the stabilizers in case you don't have a Spyder handy. The problem is two-fold, if I press the spacekey cap all the way into position the mounts bind up in the stabilizers, causing the key to remain in the depressed state. The other I have already shown, that of the mis-alignment with the other keys which also causes binding in the depressed state against the row above.
rolloverI just tested it on the Lolita Spyder and you're right that it sticks. It looks like the stems on the Dolch spacebar are just slightly out of alignment with the Lolita. It seems to be less than a millimeter though, so if I get a chance I'm going to mess around with trying to make it fit right. I'll let you know what I figure out.
AlexPkHi, I received the KeyCool Gradient instead of the DSA Dolch Key Set, I contacted support last Friday (19th June) and am yet to hear back, what sort of time frame does MD support work to? I'm an avid user of MD and have never had an issue in the past.
GlenmaelThat is a bizarre mixup. They should get back to you soon, but I know they're pretty busy right now so I'd give them a little time. Thanks for your patience
AlexPkAt some point you need to acknowledge the spacebars are defective and you need to have SP make the correct replacements. Suggesting literally chopping up a part in a $70 key set is the opposite of how you need to handle this.
