I just went through my stack, because I have purchased less expensive journals made by Eccolo. You cannot expect Leuchtturm, Tomoe River or Rhodia quality, but you will find it acceptable IF: (1) you d on’t write with a very wet pen, gushing ink to paper. If I could have looked at one of my older journals (at the office), I could have shown you the amount of bleed-through (which also depends on ink & pen, as well as paper). If, like me, you recoil at snobbery, then you should try these at this price. Likely, if the fake leather doesn’t bother you and you write with a pen somewhat like a Pilot Metropolitan in fine or medium, you will find the paper to be more than just acceptable. One of my favorites is also Peter Pauper out of New York. Last, if you want to try, you can get paper-bound ones at a store like Target or Office Depot.

I think I will also. I do write often with Rhodis, but with the hard surface, higher sheen than Eccolo and Peter Pauper paper, you get slower dry time and greater chance of smudging. If you are journaling, I just suggest you match pen & ink to Eccolo paper. I have enjoyed it.

RetWaveProfI also like Rhodia paper and the Peter Pauper journals, but variety is important too. Different journals evoke different kinds of thinking, just as different pens can do. Switching pens is sometimes enough to dissolve writer's block. At least for me.

Does anyone know if the paper is fountain-pen friendly?
