ESP E-II Horizon 8 String

The way you improve is by playing stuff that's too difficult for you. I understand your desire to play original stuff, but the best way to learn is to find a complex and challenging song, and learn it. Most of us learn by learning to play our favorite songs, the ones that made us want to start playing.

Not going to purchase...but more so a question to the community. Has anyone here ever quit playing out of frustration? Like I had learned music theory, scales and what not but I felt incapable of getting better. I absolutely loathed doing covers idk how do you continue to enjoy playing?

I've been playing an 8-string guitar for about a year now and its almost like a completely new instrument with all the possibilities it opened up. When I go back and play one of my 6-string guitars now it almost feels like a toy. I highly recommend a multi-scale 8-string though, especially if you are tuning low with the heavier strings, because it helps eliminate that "floppy" factor. Fanned fretting was also surprisingly amazing in ergonomics and comfort but also in speed and accuracy.
