From Faber-Castell, a penmaker whose history dates back to 1761 Germany, the Ambition is distinguished by its slender barrel design and diverse materials, which range from precious resin to coconut wood to pearwood to stainless steel. Each affords a pleasant weight and feel, accented by a highly polished, chrome-plated cap and fitted with a stainless steel nib.
Note: At checkout, select a barrel finish: black resin (base price), black sand (base price), rhombus black (+ $30), matte steel (+ $85), pearwood (+ $85), or coconut wood (+ $100). You'll also have your choice of nib size: extra-fine, fine, medium, or broad. All models except black resin come with a converter. You can add a converter for an additional $4.
Established in 1761 by Kaspar Faber—who began his career as a cabinetmaker in the Bavarian city of Stein—Faber-Castell remains a family business today. Now helmed by an eighth-generation Faber-Castell, it stays true to its tenets of quality, tradition, and innovation, and has expanded its line of fine writing instruments to include drawing and crafting products for students and children.
